We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in this season of overwhelming pressure and exhaustion. The MCAT is a monumental step, and it’s completely understandable to feel unprepared, weary, and even doubtful. But we want to remind you that your strength does not come from your own efforts, it comes from the Lord, who sustains you even when you feel weak. Scripture tells us, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." (2 Corinthians 12:9). The very fact that you are leaning on Him in this moment is evidence of His work in your life.
You mentioned wrestling with whether to push the exam to next year, and we want to affirm that seeking God’s will is the right posture. The signs you’ve noticed, the timing, the encouragement from others, even the feast day, may indeed be the Lord’s way of confirming His direction. But let’s also remember that God’s peace is not always found in dramatic revelations; sometimes, it’s in the quiet assurance that He is with you, opening doors as He sees fit. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." You don’t have to have all the answers, you just have to trust Him.
We also want to gently remind you that your worth and identity are not tied to this exam or any earthly achievement. You are a child of God, deeply loved and chosen by Him (1 John 3:1). Even if the outcome isn’t what you hope for, He remains faithful. And if you’re feeling tired, that’s okay, Jesus Himself invites you to come to Him when you’re weary and heavy-laden, promising rest for your soul (Matthew 11:28). Rest in Him, even as you prepare.
Now, let’s pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their heart to You. Lord, You see their exhaustion, their fears, and their desire to follow Your will. We ask that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen them in their weakness, reminding them that Your power is made perfect in their frailty. Give them clarity as they prepare, wisdom in their decisions, and confidence in Your provision. If this exam is Your will for them, go before them and make their path clear. If not, close the door gently and lead them in the way they should go. Remind them, Lord, that their identity is secure in You, not in their performance, not in their achievements, but in the finished work of Christ. Renew their strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31), and let them feel Your presence with them in this season. We trust You, Father, to guide them and to glorify Your name through their life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
You are not alone in this. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, He will not fail you. If you need to adjust your plans, do so with confidence that He is leading you. And if you move forward with the exam, do so knowing that He goes before you. Either way, His grace is sufficient.
