Prayer request for a ### who's married to a ###

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Prayer request for a man married to a woman. He disrespected her, making fun of their deceased baby and comparing it to Jesus/Yeshua's death. The woman is still in shock. He uses a mocking spirit to attack her. She isn't around him since the day he decided not to listen to her. He keeps talking to her about wanting a new woman in his life.

We are deeply grieved by this heartbreaking situation and come before the Lord with heavy hearts, seeking His mercy, healing, and justice. The pain this woman is enduring is unimaginable, and the disrespect shown by her husband is not only sinful but a direct violation of the sacred covenant of marriage. The Word of God is clear: *"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it"* (Ephesians 5:25). To mock the death of their child—let alone compare it to the holy sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ—is a blasphemous and cruel act that grieves the Holy Spirit. The enemy has clearly used this man’s words to inflict deep wounds, and we must rebuke the spirit of mockery, insensitivity, and unrepentance at work here.

First, we must address the seriousness of this man’s actions. Marriage is a holy institution ordained by God, meant to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:31-32). When a husband disrespects, demeans, or inflicts emotional harm on his wife, he is not only failing in his God-given role but is in direct rebellion against the Lord. The fact that he speaks of wanting another woman while still married is adultery in his heart (Matthew 5:28) and a complete betrayal of his vows before God. We must call this what it is: sin. There is no justification for his behavior, and repentance is the only path to restoration.

To the wife enduring this pain: we stand with you in prayer, believing that God sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are not alone, and your grief is valid. The loss of a child is a profound sorrow, and to have that pain mocked is an added cruelty that no one should endure. We pray that the Lord would be your Comforter, your Shield, and your Strong Tower (Psalm 18:2). You have done the right thing by removing yourself from his presence, for *"bad company corrupts good character"* (1 Corinthians 15:33), and his words are not only hurtful but spiritually dangerous.

We also lift up this man before the Lord, for though his actions are inexcusable, God’s desire is for repentance and restoration. *"The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance"* (2 Peter 3:9). We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his sin, break the hardness of his heart, and lead him to genuine sorrow and change. If he is a believer, he must be confronted with the truth of his actions and called to account. If he refuses to repent, then the Word of God is clear: *"A brother or sister who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortionist—that person we must not associate with"* (1 Corinthians 5:11). Marriage is a covenant, but it is not a license for abuse or unrepentant sin.

Now, we come before the throne of grace in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, Lord, for this sister who has been deeply wounded by the one who vowed to love and cherish her. We ask that You would be her Refuge and Strength, an ever-present help in this time of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Comfort her, Lord, as only You can. Heal the wounds inflicted by cruel words and restore her peace. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke the spirit of mockery and insensitivity that has been at work in her home.

Father, we also lift up this man before You. We ask that You would shatter the hardness of his heart and bring him to a place of true repentance. Convict him of his sin, Lord, and let him see the gravity of his actions. If he is to remain in this marriage, he must turn from his ways, seek forgiveness, and demonstrate a changed heart through his actions. If he refuses, we pray that You would remove any stumbling blocks from this sister’s path and lead her into the safety and peace that You provide.

Lord, we ask that You would surround this woman with godly counsel and support. Bring wise, discerning believers into her life who can speak truth and encouragement to her. Give her the strength to stand firm in Your promises and the wisdom to know how to move forward. We declare that her identity is in Christ, not in the words of her husband, and that You are her Defender and Redeemer.

We also pray for restoration in this marriage, but only if it aligns with Your will and is built on repentance, humility, and a return to Your design for marriage. If this man will not change, then we ask that You would open a door for this sister to walk away from this toxic situation and into the freedom and healing that You provide. We trust in Your justice, Lord, and we know that You will not let sin go unpunished.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who alone can bring true healing and restoration. Amen.

To the wife reading this: you are seen, you are loved, and you are not forgotten. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Do not carry this burden alone—seek out a pastor, a trusted Christian counselor, or a godly friend who can walk with you through this valley. You deserve to be treated with love, respect, and dignity, and if your husband will not provide that, then God will raise up others to stand in the gap for you. Hold fast to His promises, for He is faithful.

Dear Sister,

We are here with you, holding you up in our prayers. We can only imagine the pain and shock you're feeling, and we want you to know that you're not alone. Your husband's words were not only hurtful but also disrespectful and blasphemous. They do not reflect the heart of God, who loves and cherishes you.

We stand with you in your decision to distance yourself from him. It's important to protect your emotional well-being, and we believe you've done the right thing. We also pray that the Lord would give you wisdom and guidance as you navigate this difficult situation.

We ask that you would cling to the promises of God, especially in Psalm 147:3, which reminds us that "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He sees your tears (Psalm 56:8) and that He is close to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

Let's also pray for your husband. We pray that the Lord would open his eyes to see the gravity of his actions and bring him to a place of genuine repentance. We ask that the Lord would soften his heart and lead him to seek forgiveness and change.

We declare healing, restoration, and peace over your situation, in Jesus' name. We trust that God will work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28) and that He will make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19).

Please know that you are loved, valued, and not forgotten. We are here for you, and we will continue to lift you up in prayer.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We are deeply grateful that you entrusted us with this heavy burden to lift in prayer. It has been on our hearts to stand in the gap for this precious sister and the painful brokenness in her marriage. We have prayed without ceasing for the Lord to bind the spirit of mockery and disrespect, to heal the wounds left by words that should never have been spoken, and to surround her with His peace that surpasses all understanding. We have asked our Father to soften her husband’s heart, to convict him of the harm he has caused, and to draw him back to repentance and restoration.

If the Lord has moved in this situation—if healing has begun, if hearts have turned, or if His comfort has wrapped around this dear sister like a shield—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report. Your testimony could strengthen others walking through similar valleys.

If the battle still rages and the answers have not yet come, please know we are still here, still lifting this need before the throne. We invite you to post this request again so we may continue to intercede with fresh faith and persistence. The enemy would love to see despair take root, but we declare that God is greater, and His love never fails.

May the Lord bless you both with His presence, His wisdom, and His unfailing hope as you seek Him through Jesus Christ. We pray this in His mighty and holy name.
