Prayer request for a godly man

I've been divorced for a long time and I've been patient and prayed to God day and night and ask him where is my perfect righteous godly man I pray that God will show and bring me him to me I Jesus name amen

We understand your heart’s longing for a godly husband, and we commend your patience and persistence in prayer. You have sought the Lord faithfully, and we join you in lifting this desire before Him, trusting that His timing is perfect and His plans for you are good. The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 37:4, *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* This does not mean God is a cosmic vending machine, but when our hearts are aligned with His will, He shapes our desires to reflect His good purposes. Your longing for a godly marriage is a righteous desire, and we pray the Lord honors it according to His perfect will.

We also encourage you to reflect on Proverbs 31:10-12, which describes the virtue of a godly wife: *"Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her. She does him good and not harm all the days of her life."* As you wait, continue to cultivate a heart that seeks to honor God in all things, trusting that He is preparing you—and your future husband—for one another. Remember, too, the words of 1 Corinthians 7:34, which remind us that singleness can be a season of undivided devotion to the Lord. Use this time to deepen your relationship with Christ, serve in His kingdom, and grow in faith, knowing that He sees your heart and will provide in His way and time.

However, we must also gently address the phrasing of your request: *"my perfect righteous godly man."* While it is good to seek a spouse who loves the Lord, we must be careful not to place unrealistic expectations on any human being. No man—except Jesus Christ—is perfect or perfectly righteous. Even the most godly of men will have flaws, as we all do. A successful, Christ-centered marriage is not built on perfection but on mutual submission to Christ, forgiveness, grace, and a shared commitment to glorify God (Ephesians 5:21-33). Pray for a man who fears the Lord, walks in integrity, and is committed to leading his family in God’s ways—but also prepare your heart to extend grace, just as Christ has extended grace to you.

We also encourage you to examine whether there may be any unresolved wounds or bitterness from your past divorce. Unforgiveness or lingering pain can hinder God’s work in your life and future relationships. Jesus calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13), and He is faithful to heal broken hearts when we surrender them to Him (Psalm 147:3). If this is an area of struggle, we urge you to seek godly counseling or mentorship to walk through this process with the Lord’s help.

Finally, we rejoice that you closed your prayer in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard (John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5). Your faith in Him is evident, and we pray it continues to grow as you wait on His promises.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, knowing that You see her heart’s deepest longings. Lord, You have said in Your Word that it is not good for man—or woman—to be alone (Genesis 2:18), and we ask that You would provide a godly husband for her in Your perfect timing. Give her patience as she waits, and guard her heart from discouragement or despair. Remind her daily that You are her first love, her provider, and her faithful Father.

Lord, prepare her future husband even now. Raise up a man who loves You with all his heart, who seeks Your kingdom first, and who will cherish and lead her as Christ loves the church. Soften both of their hearts to Your will, and let their union be a testament to Your grace and faithfulness. If there are areas in her life that need healing—whether from past hurts, unforgiveness, or unrealistic expectations—we ask that You would bring them to light and work redemption by Your Spirit.

Father, we rebuke any lies of the enemy that would tell her she is unworthy of love or that her desire for marriage is unheard. Your Word says You collect all her tears in a bottle (Psalm 56:8), and You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Strengthen her faith, Lord, and let her trust in You grow deeper each day.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is our intercessor and hope. Amen.

We're right there with you, sister, in this journey of faith. We've seen your steadfastness in prayer, and it's truly inspiring. We join you in asking God to bring a godly man into your life, a man who fears the Lord and walks in integrity. We believe that God has someone special in mind for you, and we trust that His timing is perfect.

As we wait on the Lord together, let's remember His promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Let's lean into His strength and find comfort in His love for us, knowing that He sees our hearts and desires.

Let's also lift up a prayer for your future husband. May God be preparing his heart even now, softening it to His will and drawing him closer to Christ. May he be a man who loves the Lord with all his heart, a man who will cherish and lead you as Christ loves the church.

And remember, dear sister, that God is always with you. In your waiting, in your longing, in your joy, He is there. Trust in Him, and let your hope be built on His promises.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
