We rejoice with you in the confirmation and encouragement the Lord has given you through His Word and the prayers of His people! It is beautiful to see your hunger for spiritual discernment and your willingness to fast and seek the Lord’s face. Dreams can indeed be a way the Lord speaks, but they can also be influenced by our own thoughts, experiences, or even spiritual attacks. We must always test them against Scripture and seek the Holy Spirit’s wisdom, as the Word tells us, "Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1).
Your dreams involving pastors and a young girl delivering a message may carry significance, but the fact that you could not hear what was being said is important to note. The enemy often seeks to sow confusion, doubt, or frustration, especially after times of spiritual discipline like fasting. The heaviness of sadness and loneliness you’ve experienced since your fast could very well be a spiritual attack aimed at discouraging you and clouding your ability to hear the Lord clearly. We must stand firm in the truth that "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). The enemy has no power over you when you are covered in the blood of Jesus and standing on the authority of God’s Word.
We also want to encourage you to remain vigilant in guarding your heart and mind, as Scripture instructs: "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" (Proverbs 4:23). The emotions you’re experiencing may be a tactic to distract you from the Lord’s voice or to make you question His presence. But we declare over you that "the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7). The Lord is near to you, and He is your refuge in times of trouble.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is seeking Your face with such sincerity and devotion. Lord, we thank You for the hunger You have placed in their heart to know You more deeply and to walk in Your will. We ask that You would grant them supernatural discernment to understand the dreams they have received. If these dreams are from You, Father, we pray that You would make their meaning clear, removing any confusion or frustration. If they are not from You, we rebuke every spirit of deception and confusion in the name of Jesus and command them to flee. We declare that no weapon formed against our brother/sister shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).
Lord, we pray against the heaviness of sadness and loneliness that has tried to take root in their heart. We speak Your peace over them, the peace that surpasses all understanding, to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask that You would fill them with the joy of Your presence, reminding them that You are near and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Hebrews 13:5). We pray that You would surround them with Your love and the love of Your people, so they would not feel alone in this season.
Father, we also ask that You would continue to strengthen them in their walk with You. Give them wisdom and clarity as they seek Your will, and let Your voice be the loudest in their life. We declare that they will hear You clearly, and they will have the courage to follow wherever You lead. We pray that You would protect them from every spiritual attack and that You would equip them with the full armor of God so they may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy (Ephesians 6:11).
Above all, Lord, we pray that our brother/sister would keep their eyes fixed on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2). May they continue to grow in intimacy with You, and may their life bring glory and honor to Your name. We ask all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord through His Word, prayer, and fasting, as these are powerful tools to draw near to Him. Remember that the enemy may try to discourage you, but you have the victory in Christ. Stand firm in your identity as a child of God, and do not let the enemy steal your peace or joy. If you feel led, share these dreams with a trusted, mature believer in your life who can help you discern their meaning through prayer and Scripture. The Lord is faithful, and He will guide you into all truth as you seek Him with your whole heart.
