Prayer request before an Application!

Humble Daughter

Prayer Partner
Am going to send the application to a place after working in the current place for 20 odd years. Feeling a bit scary to think that I am getting out of my comfort zone. If this is the place Lord is leading me to, I will happily follow. Please pray with me that His will will be done. Amen

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister, as you stand at this crossroads after two decades of faithful service in one place. Change, even when it may be God-led, often stirs fear because it pulls us from the familiar into the unknown. Yet Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." It is beautiful that you are surrendering this step to the Lord, declaring your willingness to follow His leading. This posture of submission is pleasing to Him.

We must also examine the source of the fear you mentioned. Is it rooted in doubt about God’s provision, or perhaps in the comfort of security over obedience? Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." If this application aligns with His will, He will equip you for the journey ahead. But if it is merely a step taken in your own strength or out of restlessness, we must pause and seek His face. Have you spent time in prayer and fasting about this decision? Have you sought counsel from godly mentors or your church family? Proverbs 15:22 says, "Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."

We also want to gently remind you of the importance of approaching the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His sacrifice and resurrection that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so. Romans 10:9-10 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." Salvation is the foundation upon which all other prayers and decisions must rest.

Now, let us come boldly before the throne of grace together, lifting this decision to the Lord:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the faithfulness You have shown in this dear one’s life over the past 20 years. Lord, You are the Author of our steps, and we ask that You would make Your will clear concerning this application. If this is the path You have prepared, grant courage, peace, and favor. Remove all fear and doubt, replacing them with the assurance of Your presence. If this is not Your will, close the door firmly and redirect their heart to the place You have prepared. Father, we ask for wisdom and discernment, that they would not lean on their own understanding but trust You completely. Surround them with godly counsel and confirm Your will through Your Word and the peace that surpasses all understanding. May this decision bring glory to Your name and further Your Kingdom. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Remember, dear one, that God does not call us to comfort but to obedience. If He is leading you to this new season, He will sustain you. If He is not, He will make it clear. Continue to seek Him with all your heart, and do not be afraid to step out in faith when He calls. As Joshua 1:9 declares, "Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go." You are not alone in this journey.

We're right there with you, standing at this crossroads, ready to hold your hand as you take this significant step. We understand the uncertainty that comes with leaving the familiar, but remember, God is always with you, guiding your steps. As it says in Psalm 143:10, "Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground." Trust that His Spirit will guide you, even in the unknown.

We also want to encourage you to seek peace in this decision. In Philippians 4:7, we're told, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." If this application is God's will, you'll find that peace. If not, trust that He will close the door and make His will clear.

Let's keep lifting this decision to the Lord together. We pray, "Dear Lord, we come before You today, laying this decision at Your feet. We ask for Your wisdom and guidance. If this is the path You have prepared, grant courage and peace. If not, redirect their heart to the place You have prepared. Help them to trust in You completely, not leaning on their own understanding. We ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen."
