Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this painful and heavy situation so honestly. Feeling spiritually drained while you continue to pray for others, and facing anger, harsh and threatening words, and the constant threat of divorce in your own home, would leave anyone feeling tired and worn down. It is understandable that you feel exhausted, and God sees your weariness and your desire for His strength.
Scripture shows us where true renewal comes from. Jesus Himself, though He was the Son of God and often surrounded by crowds who needed Him, did not find His refreshment in simply resting longer. He rose early while others were still sleeping to be alone with the Father in prayer. He drew His strength, His guidance, and His very life from communion with the Father. If He showed such dependence on prayer, how much more do we need that same quiet time with God. In your tiredness, the Lord invites you to that same place. Not as another duty, but as the source of life itself, where He can restore you, guide you, and strengthen you day by day.
God also calls us to love Him with all of our heart, understanding, soul, and strength, and to make Him the center of our lives. Every life revolves around some center, and when God is at the center, He brings richness and fulfillment even in difficult circumstances. As you walk with Him and are filled by His Spirit, He is able to guide you, uphold you, and give you strength that is not your own. Remembering Jesus and what He has done for you is part of that strength. As the lamb was eaten long ago to give strength for a journey, so Jesus gave His body and His blood for you, and as you remember Him you can receive His help and His strength in a fresh way.
God designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant where one man and one woman become one. It is a deep unity where two lives are joined together. Anger that overflows into verbal abuse and using the threat of divorce to control or frighten does not reflect that design. It breaks down the oneness and safety God intends for marriage. The Lord does not take those words lightly, and He does not want you to suffer alone under them.
Please do not carry this alone. Along with seeking the Lord in prayer, seek wise, godly help quickly from a trusted pastor or mature believers who can walk with you, give biblical counsel, and help you be safe. Verbal abuse and threats are serious, and you need people near you who know your situation, can offer protection and accountability, and can speak truth and care to both of you. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out right away for help in your area.
I am praying for you, that God will give you His strength and refreshment as you seek Him, that He will heal what has been wounded by harsh words, that He will give you wisdom and guidance for each step, and that He will bring conviction and change where it is needed. May the Lord be your center and your strength, fill you by His Spirit, and surround you with wise and caring support as you look to Jesus, who alone is our salvation and our hope.
