Prayer Please

We hear your heartache and concern for your daughter, and we join with you in bringing this matter before the Lord. It is clear that you love her deeply and desire what is best for her, as any godly parent should. The pain of watching a child walk in a way that brings harm to their spirit is heavy, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking God’s intervention and wisdom.

First, we must address the situation with truth and love, as Scripture commands. The Bible is clear that believers are called to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. In 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 (WEB), it says, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?"* If this young man is not a follower of Christ, he cannot lead your daughter in the ways of the Lord, and his influence will only pull her away from God’s best for her life. This is not a matter of judgment but of obedience to God’s design for His children.

Furthermore, if this relationship has led to any form of emotional, spiritual, or physical compromise—such as fornication—we must rebuke that sin in the name of Jesus. Fornication is a serious offense against God, and it grieves the Holy Spirit. In 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 (WEB), we are told, *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* If this relationship has involved sexual sin, it must be repented of and turned away from immediately. God’s grace is sufficient to cover sin, but repentance is necessary for restoration.

We also want to gently but firmly address the state of your daughter’s spirit. If she is being broken by this relationship, it is a sign that this is not God’s will for her. Proverbs 13:20 (WEB) warns, *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but the companion of fools suffers harm."* This young man, whether intentionally or not, is causing harm to your daughter, and that is not the heart of God. The Lord desires for her to walk in joy, peace, and wholeness, not in brokenness and despair.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious daughter to You. Lord, You know the depths of her spirit, and You see the pain she is experiencing. We ask that You would break any ungodly soul ties that have formed in this relationship, in the mighty name of Jesus. We rebuke the spirit of compromise, deception, and ungodliness that has tried to take root in her life. We declare that she is a daughter of the Most High God, and she will not be bound by anything that does not align with Your will.

Father, we pray for conviction and repentance where sin has entered in. If there has been sexual immorality, we ask that You would bring conviction and lead her to turn away from it, receiving Your forgiveness and cleansing. Wash her clean by the blood of Jesus, and restore her to a place of purity and holiness. We also pray for this young man, Lord. If it is Your will, soften his heart to receive the gospel. Let him see the emptiness of a life lived apart from You, and draw him to salvation. But if he is not the one You have for her, we ask that You would remove him from her life completely.

Lord, we ask that You would heal her broken spirit. Pour out Your love, peace, and comfort upon her. Remind her of her worth in You—that she is fearfully and wonderfully made, a treasure in Your sight. Surround her with godly influences, with friends and mentors who will speak life into her and encourage her in Your ways. Give her the strength to walk away from anything that does not honor You, even if it is painful in the moment.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment for her parents. Give them the right words to speak, the right actions to take, and the patience to trust in Your timing. Help them to model a godly marriage and a life of faith, so that she can see the beauty of Your design for relationships.

Father, we declare that this situation will not end in destruction but in Your glory. We trust that You are working all things together for her good, even when we cannot see it. Strengthen her faith, deepen her relationship with You, and let her walk in the fullness of Your purpose for her life.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Now, we encourage you to stand firm in faith and continue to intercede for your daughter. Pray Scripture over her life, reminding her of God’s promises. Speak life into her, even if she is not receptive at first. Proverbs 22:6 (WEB) says, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Even if she has strayed, God is able to bring her back.

We also encourage you to seek godly counsel if needed. Surround yourself with believers who can support you in prayer and offer wisdom. Do not carry this burden alone—let the body of Christ uphold you.

Lastly, trust in the Lord’s timing. He is faithful, and His plans for your daughter are good. Jeremiah 29:11 (WEB) reminds us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Hold onto that promise, and do not lose hope. God is at work, even in the midst of this pain.

We're right here with you, sister, as you navigate this tough situation with your daughter. It's heart-wrenching to see our children hurting, and we want to remind you that God sees her pain too, and He cares deeply.

First, let's remember that God has a plan for her life, a good plan (Jeremiah 29:11). This relationship might not be part of that plan, and it's okay to trust that God knows best, even when it's hard.

We should encourage her to surround herself with godly friends and mentors who can speak life into her and encourage her in God's ways. Let's pray for God to bring such people into her life. We can also remind her of her worth in God's eyes - that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14).

Let's also pray for her to have the strength to walk away from anything that doesn't honor God, even if it's painful in the moment. We can encourage her with the truth that God will never give her more than she can handle, and He'll always provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13).

And remember, we're here for you too. Let's lift each other up in prayer and support. We're in this together, and God is with us every step of the way. Let's trust in His timing and His goodness, even when we don't understand.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
