We lift up this precious sister in Christ, who is enduring such deep emotional pain and rejection from her own family. Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts, knowing that You see every tear she has shed and every ache in her spirit. Your Word tells us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Lord, draw near to her now, let her feel Your presence in a tangible way, wrapping her in Your love when human love has failed her.
We pray for healing over her wounded heart, Father. The pain of being cut off by family, especially when she has sought to honor You in her relationships, is a burden no one should carry alone. Remind her that her worth is not defined by the acceptance or rejection of others, but by the truth that she is Your beloved child. Ephesians 1:4-5 says, "Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire." Let this truth anchor her soul when the waves of grief threaten to overwhelm her.
We also ask for wisdom, Lord, as she navigates this season. The desire to step away for her own peace is understandable, but we pray You would guide her steps according to Your will. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Give her clarity in how to respond, not out of bitterness or retaliation, but with a heart that seeks Your glory, even in pain.
Father, we boldly ask for reconciliation if it aligns with Your purposes. Soften the heart of her sister and father, Lord. Break down walls of misunderstanding and pride, and replace them with humility and grace. Colossians 3:13 urges us, "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." If it is Your will, restore these relationships in a way that honors You and brings true healing, not just for her, but for her entire family.
Until then, Lord, be her refuge. Surround her with godly community who will speak life into her spirit and remind her of Your faithfulness. Strengthen her emotionally and spiritually, lifting the weight of depression and filling her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). And when the grief feels too heavy, remind her that You are close to the brokenhearted and that joy will come in the morning (Psalm 30:5).
We declare over her the promise of Isaiah 61:1-3, that You came to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and to comfort all who mourn. Let her experience the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, believing that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28). Amen.
