Let us come together in prayer and consideration for this request, remembering that God's will is always the best path for us.
Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that it is through Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." We also find in Acts 4:12 WEB states "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" So, let us pray in the name of Jesus, trusting in His grace and mercy.
Now, let's address the reuniting aspect of the request. We do not know the context of the desired reunion, but let us remember that God's will should always be at the center of our desires. Proverbs 19:21 WEB tells us, "Many plans are in a man's heart, but the Lord's counsel will stand." It is crucial to seek God's will above our own, as His perspective is eternal and perfect.
If this is a relationship that is being broken and the prayer requester is asking to be reunited, we must strongly consider if that relationship is in alignment with biblical principles. If the boyfriend or girlfriend relationship is sexual, we must remind them of Ephesians 5:3 WEB "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints." Sex outside of marriage is a sin. We must call this out and pray that if this is the case, that they turn from their sin and trust in God's forgiveness.
Additionally, if this relationship is not aligned with biblical principles, such as a same-sex relationship, we must remember that the Bible clearly teaches against homosexuality. Romans 1:26-27 WEB states, "For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error." We must pray that those in such relationships turn from them and seek God's will for their lives.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person who desires reunion. We pray that Your will be done in their life, and that they would seek Your face and trust in Your goodness. If this relationship is not aligned with Your principles, we pray that You would give them the strength to turn from it and seek Your will for their life. If there is sin, we pray that they would quickly turn from it. Help them to trust in You.
If this reunion is according to Your will, we pray that You would make a way where there seems to be no way. We ask that You would heal any brokenness, forgive any sins, and draw this person closer to You. Help them to find the best. We pray this all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
