Prayer for work

Asteondion

Servant
Please pray for me to do well at work, pray for safety for me too, and for me to also be positive with coworkers and customers.

We have heard your request for prayer for your work, for safety, and for a positive spirit toward coworkers and customers, and we join with you in bringing this before the Father together in Jesus' name.

We are encouraged by your desire to do well and to be a light to those around you at work. The Scripture calls us to diligence and to a heart that serves God in all we do. Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. And Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. When we commit our work to the Lord, we can trust Him to establish our efforts and to give us strength and wisdom for each task. We also pray for your safety, knowing that the Lord is our keeper. Psalm 121:7-8 says, Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore. We trust Him to watch over you as you go to and from work and as you labor each day.

We also lift up your desire to be positive with coworkers and customers. This is a beautiful testimony of Christ in the workplace. Philippians 4:8 encourages us to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, and Ephesians 4:29 says, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. We pray that the Lord will fill your heart with His peace and joy so that your words and actions will build others up and reflect His grace, even in difficult moments or with difficult people.

We did notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why this is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you, if you have not already done so, to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again. Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray and have confidence that God hears us.

We now pray together for you.

Father, we lift up this dear one to You in Jesus' name and ask for Your hand upon their work. Grant skill, diligence, and favor in their duties, and help them to work as unto You. Keep them safe in all their going out and coming in, protect them from harm and danger, and give them peace. Fill their heart with Your joy and let Your Spirit guide their thoughts, words, and attitudes, so that they may be an encouragement to coworkers and customers and show Your love in every interaction. Help them to grow in grace, to remain positive even under pressure, and to trust You with every concern. Draw them closer to Jesus and deepen their faith, that they may know Your presence and provision each day. We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Wanting to do good work, stay safe, and bring a positive spirit to the people around you matters a lot, and we appreciate your heart to show up well for both coworkers and customers.

We know work can feel like a lot to carry at once, the pressure to perform, the need to stay safe on the job, and the energy it takes to stay kind when you are tired or stretched. Positivity does not have to be forced cheerfulness. Often it grows from small, ordinary faithfulness, being genuine, looking out for the interests of others, offering steady care even in brief interactions.

One simple step that helps many people is to bookend the workday. Before you start, take a moment to quietly ask God for steadiness and for help to see one person you can encourage that day. At the end of the day, notice one moment that went well, even a small one, and thank God for it. Over time that rhythm can keep your focus grounded when things get busy.

We are praying for you.

Father, in Jesus name we lift our friend to You. Grant safety in the workplace, skill and focus in the tasks at hand, and a calm, kind presence with coworkers and customers. Give wisdom for each decision and peace at the end of each day. Guide and keep them in Your will. Amen.

Your desire to do well in your daily calling is itself a gracious sign, and we have brought your request before the Lord with thankfulness.

We are taught in Scripture, I must work the works of Him that sent Me while it is day, for the night comes when no man can work. Your work is not a thing apart from your religion. The doctrine of Christ in us does not exempt us from work and service, nor does the work of the Holy Spirit supersede human effort, but rather excites it. Wherever the Spirit works He makes men work, and makes them to labor and strive with personal diligence. Therefore we pray that the Lord would give you industry and faithfulness in all that your hand finds to do, that your labor may be true work, done heartily as unto the Lord and not merely unto men. We ask with the Psalmist, Let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish Thou the work of our hands upon us, yea, the work of our hands establish Thou it. May He establish your work, not because it is merely your own, but as it is done in truth and for His glory, and may you know the privilege of working today in His vineyard, in the place where He has set you.

You have also asked for safety, and this we earnestly seek for you. We are all in danger of falling, not only the weak but the strong, and we constantly need to cry to God to keep us. Our safety lies not in our own caution or strength, but in our Savior. Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling is our confidence. He is both able and as wise as He is able to keep His people. We pray that the Lord would preserve you in your going out and coming in, keeping your body from harm and your soul from sin, and that you may prove the promise that His throne might sooner fail than that one of His saints should perish. May He present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, and keep you day by day by His infinite power.

And for your walk among coworkers and customers, we pray that the Lord would make you a light in the world while you are in it. The power of the Church lies much under God in the personal influence of her members. We ask that He would give you grace to be positive not with mere natural cheerfulness, but with that charity which comes from Christ dwelling in you, that your speech may be seasoned with grace and your temper patient and kind. May your life and words commend the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ to those around you, and may your soul have such inward fellowship with Him that others see His work appearing in you.

We commend you to God our Savior in prayer.

O Lord our God, we thank Thee for this our friend and for honest work given to do. Establish the work of his hands, give him skill, diligence and integrity, and let all he does be wrought in Thee. Keep him in safety, for Thou alone art able to keep him from falling, guard his life and preserve his steps. Fill him with Thy Spirit, that he may labor and strive in Thy strength, and make him to shine as a light among those with whom he labors, showing forth the meekness and love of Christ in word and deed. Keep him faultless by the blood and power of Jesus, and at last present him with exceeding joy before Thy glory. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
