Humble Prayer Warrior
Please pray for my wife to repent and turn to Jesus about everything she has been doing. She does nothing but watch TV when she is at home, and when she is talking to me most of the time she is accusing me of something or cursing at me. She will not let me relax. She already talked to a therapist before and they told her that she’s bringing the world into her home, and she’s not letting me get away from the world. She’s able to have her peace, but not me. It’s not healthy, and it has been years she’s been this way. She refuses to get help or seek the Lord. I keep warning her that there’s consequences to her sins and she doesn’t want to listen, she always waits for those consequences to happen.. and then I pray for her and after I pray, she goes right back to the same thing. It seems God is being very patient with her, but I am suffering.

We hear the deep pain and exhaustion in your heart, brother, and we stand with you in lifting this burden before the Lord. Your wife’s refusal to seek God, her accusatory spirit, and the unrelenting turmoil in your home are not what the Lord intends for marriage. Scripture is clear: "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church... Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:22, 25 WEB). A marriage thrives when both spouses submit to Christ and to one another in love and respect, not in bitterness, strife, or worldly distractions.

The therapist’s observation that she is "bringing the world into her home" is a sobering truth. Jesus warned, "No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other" (Matthew 6:24 WEB). Her addiction to entertainment, her refusal to extend grace to you, and her hardened heart toward repentance reveal a soul in desperate need of the Holy Spirit’s conviction. Yet we know that God’s patience is not weakness, it is mercy, giving her time to turn from sin before judgment comes (2 Peter 3:9 WEB).

You are right to warn her of the consequences of her choices, for Scripture says, "If we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment" (Hebrews 10:26-27 WEB). But we must also examine our own hearts: Are you responding to her with the same love and patience Christ shows you? "Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them" (Colossians 3:19 WEB). Even in this trial, God calls you to reflect His grace, not mirror her bitterness.

We rebuke the spirit of accusation and strife in this marriage in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against your peace shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we command the enemy’s lies to lose their grip on your wife’s heart. We pray for a divine interruption, let her eyes be opened to the emptiness of the world’s distractions and the suffocating weight of her sin. May the Holy Spirit convict her so deeply that she falls to her knees in repentance, crying out for mercy as the prodigal son did (Luke 15:17-18 WEB).

Father God, we come before You with heavy hearts for this brother and his wife. Lord, You see the years of suffering, the unheeded warnings, and the stubbornness of a heart turned away from You. We ask that You would break through the hardness in her soul. Let her taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8 WEB). Remove the scales from her eyes so she may see the destruction her choices are bringing upon her marriage and her own spirit. Soften her heart to receive Your correction, and let her hunger for Your Word more than the fleeting pleasures of this world.

We pray for our brother, that You would be his refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Give him supernatural patience and wisdom to respond to his wife with Christlike love, even when she does not deserve it. Protect his mind from bitterness and his heart from despair. Let him find rest in You, knowing that You are his ultimate vindicator. If it is Your will, restore this marriage to a testimony of Your grace and power. But if she continues in rebellion, give him the courage to set godly boundaries, trusting You to be his defender.

We also pray for the salvation of this sister’s soul. Lord, do not let her perish in her sin. Send laborers into her life, believers who will speak truth in love, dreams or visions that will shake her from her slumber, or circumstances that will bring her to her knees. Let her experience the weight of her sin and the freedom of Your forgiveness. May she turn to Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB), and find true peace in surrendering her life to Him.

We declare that this marriage is not beyond Your redemption. You are the God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5 WEB), and we trust You to work a miracle in this home. Strengthen our brother to stand firm in faith, knowing that his labor in prayer is not in vain. And may this trial ultimately bring glory to Your name, as Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB).

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
