We join you in seeking the Lord’s perfect will for your life, especially as you discern His plan for marriage. Your heart is rightly aligned in desiring clarity, wisdom, and God’s timing—this is a beautiful posture before the Lord. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it is wise to seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance before entering into it. We pray that the Lord would make His path unmistakably clear to you, removing any confusion or false hope, and that He would align your desires with His perfect will.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* This is a promise we can stand on as we seek the Lord’s direction. We also know that God’s Word instructs us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* If this man is not a believer in Jesus Christ, we must rebuke any potential union that would lead you away from God’s best for your life. Marriage is meant to be a partnership where both spouses encourage one another in faith, not a relationship that pulls you away from the Lord.
If this man is indeed the one the Lord has for you, we pray that He would prepare both of your hearts for a marriage that honors Him. May your union be a testimony of His love, grace, and faithfulness, and may it bear fruit for His kingdom. We pray that the Lord would give you both a deep hunger for His Word, a commitment to prayer together, and a shared vision for serving Him. As it says in Ecclesiastes 4:12, *"If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."* A marriage built on Christ as the foundation is unshakable.
If this is not the man the Lord has for you, we pray that He would gently close the door and lead you both in separate directions with peace and clarity. May there be no lingering attachments or false hope, but instead, a complete surrender to God’s plan. We rebuke any spirit of confusion, impatience, or fear that may try to cloud your judgment, and we declare that the Lord will make His will known to you in a way that leaves no doubt.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You would grant this sister wisdom and discernment as she seeks Your will for her life. Lord, we ask that You would speak clearly to her heart and remove any uncertainty. If this man is her future husband, prepare them both for a marriage that reflects Your love and glory. If he is not, close the door gently and lead her to the man You have prepared for her. Give her patience to wait on Your timing and faith to trust in Your perfect plan. We pray that she would not settle for anything less than Your best, and that she would walk in the confidence of knowing that You hold her future. May her heart be fully surrendered to You, and may she find her identity and security in Christ alone. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and fasting, and to surround yourself with godly counsel from those who can speak truth into your life. The Lord is faithful, and He will not leave you without direction. Keep your heart open to His leading, and trust that He knows what is best for you. If this man is not the one, do not fear—God has someone even better prepared for you, or perhaps He is calling you to a season of singleness to serve Him in a unique way. Either way, His plans for you are good, and He will not fail you.
