Lord Jesus, please guide my steps. Hold my hand and lead me. Lord i did a mistake in salary preparation of my workers. Help me to solve the problem, grant me your divine wisdom, discernment to solve the problem and help to complete the work. In jesus name i pray Amen

We hear your heartfelt cry for divine guidance and wisdom, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s direction in this matter. Mistakes in our work, especially those affecting others, can weigh heavily on our hearts, but we take comfort in knowing that our God is faithful to lead and restore. The Bible assures us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

First, we must acknowledge that integrity in our dealings, whether in business, employment, or finances, is a reflection of our walk with Christ. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." The error in salary preparation must be addressed with humility, honesty, and a commitment to making things right. If restitution is needed, we encourage you to act swiftly and justly, as Leviticus 19:13 warns, "You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning."

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, seeking Your wisdom and mercy for our brother/sister in this time of need. Lord, You see the burden on their heart, and we ask that You would grant them clarity, discernment, and courage to correct this mistake with integrity. Give them the words to communicate with humility and the wisdom to resolve the issue in a way that honors You. Forgive any oversight or negligence, and help them to learn from this moment, growing in diligence and faithfulness in their work. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will turn this situation for good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their trust in You, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen."

We also encourage you to seek counsel from a trusted spiritual leader or mentor who can provide godly advice as you navigate this situation. Remember, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Take this as an opportunity to grow in dependence on Him, for His grace is sufficient in every weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Walk back through your work step by step with a pad of paper, asking the Lord to steady your eyes as you retrace your calculations. If something still doesn’t add up, it’s okay to quietly ask a trusted colleague or a payroll clerk to double-check it with you, two sets of eyes often catch what one misses. If the mistake has already reached your workers, owning it honestly and explaining your plan to make it right usually eases tensions and opens doors rather than closing them.

You’re not alone in this. The same Spirit who calmed chaos at the beginning of creation is present at your desk, ready to bring order and clarity. We’ve watched God untangle far messier knots when His people simply pause and ask, “What’s the next small thing I can do?”

Lord Jesus, thank You for seeing this burden and caring about the details. Settle our friend’s nerves right now. Grant a sharp, unhurried mind to see the error clearly and the practical wisdom to correct it with integrity. Guide every conversation that needs to happen, and let the work be completed accurately and soon. In Your steady name we pray, Amen.

It is well when a mistake in our daily calling drives us to our knees with the cry, "Lord Jesus, guide my steps," for naturally we do not like being guided, but a work of Grace upon the heart makes us feel our need of a Guide. You have done the wisest thing in bringing this salary trouble to the Lord, for Divine Wisdom, dressed in robes of love and tenderness, invites us to run into her arms. The qualification for imparting His fullness is your emptiness, that is all! Bring your tangled accounts and your sense of insufficiency to Him who gives wisdom liberally.

Beware of the error of thinking God is such an one as yourself, that He is hard and unapproachable because you have blundered. His justice has been fully vindicated by the death of His Son, the Substitute for sinners. It is not difficult for God to forgive and to aid, though it may be difficult for us to do so. Do not let despondency loosen the girdle of your mind. Be ready for service, be ready for whatever may happen, for the Master loves to see His servant prepared for journeying and for fighting. This very trouble may be the means by which He will give you a far higher conception of what He really is.

Remember the place where you are called to work. It is all done for Him! You are not a mere hireling working for wages, but a son, a daughter, bid to work in the Father’s vineyard. When you are working for God you are really taking shares with Him. This salary preparation, done in dependence on Jesus Christ, is as sacred a service as the shepherds publishing abroad the saying which was told them. It is your own vineyard because it is your Father's vineyard. Therefore, go to your desk with this slogan over your heart: "With the King for His work!" There you dwell with the King amidst the plants and hedges of your daily labour.

As for solving the problem itself, be guided by the great principles infused in every man who takes God for his Guide. Bowing with submission to the Divine will, by that very fact we are furnished with unerring guidance! The Lord counsels you to buy of Him gold tried in the fire, that is, true wisdom and grace which will endure to the end. Make sure work for eternity in how you handle this, dealing honestly and uprightly as one who dwells with the King. His counsel is always good; it is always wise to get this gold when you can buy it for nothing. Look to Jesus, and the blessed Spirit illuminates all the souls that look to Him. Go forth, then, not as a slave fearing the lash for your error, but as a child holding the Father’s hand. Work on, for you shall rest tomorrow, and the toils of time shall be well repaid.

Your prayer for guidance reveals a heart willing to admit a mistake, and this very admission is not a human work but a sign of divine wisdom already at work within you. For what could be wiser than the one who does not deceive himself but condemns his own error? This is a work of mighty wisdom, not something born of chance.

Do not, therefore, meet this trouble as one who runs at random or is seized by a huge lethargy of the soul. The man who is idle of purpose says many things and does many things at random, busy all day about nothing, only begetting superfluous sorrows. Your request for divine wisdom is itself a mark of one seeking not the wisdom of this world, which is foolishness before God, but the wisdom which is spiritual.

The error in your accounts is a small matter, yet it has become a test to drive you toward Him who was made unto us wisdom from God. You ask Christ to take your hand and lead you, and rightly so, for he says, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me.” To go to him directly, as Nathanael did, shows a character not easily deceived and a great desire to set things right. He did not merely debate about the place of Christ’s origin but went to him in person; you, in your perplexity, must go to the Lord of all wisdom in prayer, but then also rise and proceed with the work itself, trusting that the right hand of God both arms and disarms all difficulty at his command.

Do not let your mind become so entangled by this one misstep that you are bent over toward the earth like a young man fretting over trifles, priding himself on the avoidance of a little dust. Resolve it with the simplicity of a dove, but apply the practical wisdom you have implored. Seek the solution with a sober mind, confessing the mistake openly where needed, and recalculating with care, knowing that what men call foolishness is often the very means by which the wisdom of the perfect triumphs.
