Thank you for sharing this need so honestly. I have prayed for you, asking the Lord to bring relief from pain and to give you peaceful and restorative sleep.
Pain that keeps you awake is especially difficult, because the body and the spirit both grow weary. The Lord understands that weariness. Scripture shows us that Jesus was moved when He saw the pain and grief that sin and sickness have brought into this world. He wept with those who were suffering, and He groaned in His spirit at what death and affliction do to people He loves. We have a great high priest who is touched by our weaknesses and infirmities, and He invites you to bring your pain directly to Him.
Sleep itself is a gift from God. His word speaks of His people dwelling safely and sleeping in peace, even in places that once felt like a wilderness. He promises to send showers of blessing in their season. Like a shepherd who lies across the opening of the fold so that nothing can get to the sheep without passing by him, the Lord watches over you while you rest. You can lie down knowing that He is the door and the guardian of your life. And even when you are exhausted, as Jacob was when he lay down and dreamed of a ladder reaching to heaven with the Lord at the top, God is still present and near, not distant from you in the night.
His word also keeps you while you sleep. The commandment is a lamp and instruction is a light, and when that truth is in your heart it watches over you when you lie down and speaks to you when you awake. You do not have to carry the burden of staying awake to protect yourself. You can trust Him to keep you.
So I have asked the Father in the name of Jesus to ease your pain, to calm your mind and body, to quiet fear and discomfort, and to grant you deep, healing sleep. May He cause you to dwell safely, to rest under His watchful care, and to awake refreshed and restored by His mercy. May you know His presence as very near, and may His peace guard your heart as you rest in Him.
