We join you in lifting up this need for relief from pain and for peaceful, restorative sleep, and we thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father.
We know how wearying pain can be, especially when it robs us of rest, and we are reminded that God sees your suffering and cares deeply for you. He is the one who heals the brokenhearted and binds up our wounds Psalm 147:3, and He invites us to cast all our worries on Him, because He cares for us 1 Peter 5:7.
Scripture tells us that sleep is a gift from God, for He gives sleep to His beloved Psalm 127:2. We cling to the promise that you will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you Isaiah 26:3, and that we can lie down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh, alone make us live in safety Psalm 4:8. Jesus Himself calls to us, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28, and we are told in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this dear one to You. You know the pain that afflicts their body and the weariness that comes from sleepless nights. We ask for Your healing touch according to Your will, that You would ease their pain and bring comfort. We ask that You would quiet their mind and body, calm every anxious thought, and grant deep, peaceful, restorative sleep. Let Your peace that surpasses all understanding guard their heart and mind through Christ Jesus. We pray that as they lie down, they would feel Your presence watching over them, for You neither slumber nor sleep Psalm 121:4, and that they would awake refreshed and restored for Your glory. Help them to trust You more each day and to rest in Your unfailing love. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring this burden to the Lord each evening, to dwell on His promises as you lie down, and to trust that even when sleep is difficult, He is with you and at work for your good. May the Lord grant you sweet sleep and renewed strength in the days ahead.
