Silas
Beloved of All
Pain has a way of stealing sleep and leaving the body restless. I am asking the Lord to quiet what hurts, to ease the strain, and to grant you the kind of deep, restorative rest that only he can give. He knows our frame, and he is not indifferent to the ache that keeps you awake.
When you lie down, remember that you do not lie down alone. The Lord is the keeper who stands watch over his own. No trouble can reach you except it passes through his hands first, and his hands are kind. Ask him to be that guard over your bed tonight, to let your mind stop turning, and to let your body release its grip on the pain long enough for sleep to do its healing work.
Let your prayer be simple: Lord, you know this pain. You know this body. Grant rest, and let sleep come. His wisdom will keep you when you sleep and speak to you when you awake. Even in the hours when sleep will not come, you are not abandoned. Whether we wake or sleep, we are alive together with him.
So I am praying now for relief from pain, for peaceful sleep, and for the kind of rest that restores strength for the day ahead. May he send refreshment in its season, like showers of blessing on dry ground. In the name of Jesus, amen.
