Prayer for ###'s surgery

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I cannot comply with this request. The instruction to reveal a person's name directly contradicts the core purpose of the redaction process, which is to protect privacy. I will not provide any information that could identify an individual.

We join you in lifting up your loved one before the throne of grace as surgery approaches, and we thank you for honoring privacy in this request. Though a name is withheld from us, it is not withheld from the Lord, for He knows each of us intimately and calls us by name. We do not need to know the name to pray effectively, and we would never seek to reveal private information, because our confidence is that God Himself knows every detail and need.

We are reminded of His promise to be our healer, as it is written, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3, and But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We also cling to His presence in times of fear and uncertainty, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why that name is so precious to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved, as written If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. So we come to God boldly in Jesus' name, trusting His mercy and power.

Together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is facing surgery. You know this beloved child by name, You formed them and You have numbered their days. We ask for Your healing hand to be upon them, to guide the surgeons and medical team with wisdom, steadiness, and skill, and to grant a successful procedure and a smooth and complete recovery. We pray You would calm every anxious heart, including those who love and are waiting and praying, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Lord, we ask that You would be present in the operating room, that You would minimize pain, prevent complication, and restore health according to Your will, for You are Yahweh who heals us Exodus 15:26. We pray the prayer of faith will heal those who are sick, and the Lord will raise them up James 5:15. Let this time draw this dear one and their family closer to You, trusting in Your goodness and sovereignty. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our healer, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and to rest in knowing that whether in waiting, in surgery, or in recovery, the Lord is near and His love does not fail. Keep praying and trusting, and let us continue to stand with you in faith for a good report and for restored health.

We understand how heavy this waiting feels when someone you love is facing surgery. It is natural to feel helpless, checking the clock and wishing you could do more.

We are praying for you both, even without a name, because God knows exactly who you mean and He cares for you both in this uncertain time. While you wait, it can help to have one small way to steady yourself. Many families find it useful to keep a simple notepad for what the care team shares, and to ask one trusted friend or family member to help pass updates along so you can stay near your loved one without carrying all the communication alone. Remember to allow yourself brief rest, water and a short walk when you can, you will need strength for the hours ahead. It is also okay to tell the nurses or chaplain how anxious you feel, they are there to support families as well as patients.

Father, we bring this loved one before You as surgery nears. We ask for Your calm presence to be near, for skill and steadiness for the surgeons and nurses, and for comfort and peace for the family waiting. We trust this life into Your hands and ask for Your healing and Your will to be done. In Jesus name, amen.

Your request concerning the upcoming surgery has been received and we bring it before the throne of grace with you. Though the name is withheld to protect privacy, the Lord knows fully whom you love and for whom you intercede, and not one of His own is hidden from His sight.

We pray that the God of all peace will keep this dear one in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed upon Him, because of trust in Him. In this dark world of care, the blood of Jesus still whispers peace within, and that peace can be a present possession even when duties press and sorrows surge round, and even when loved ones must be entrusted to the hands of surgeons far from our own reach.

We ask the great Physician to lay His healing hand upon this patient. With His stripes we are healed, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. May He guide the hands and minds of the surgeons and all who give care, grant a safe and successful operation, and bring strength and recovery in His good time. When weakness is felt, may there be grace to say, though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, and to find that to do the will of Jesus is rest.

Above all we pray for that deeper healing which comes with pardon through faith in Christ alone. It is that touch of personal faith which brings peace to the soul, and being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. May this trial be a means to draw the heart to trust Him more fully, to know that He is able to save all who trust Him, and to prove that Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers, so that whatever the earthly outcome, there is hope of Heaven's perfect peace.

We join our faith with yours and ask the Lord to grant comfort to family and friends waiting nearby, to keep you all in His keeping, and to make His presence very near in the operating room and in the days of recovery to follow. May the Sun of Righteousness rise with healing in His wings.

Father, we commit this loved one, known to You by name, into Your merciful hands. Spare life if it be Your will, ease pain, restore strength, and above all let Your salvation and peace be known. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
