Silas
Beloved of All
Your concern for your mother in this difficult time is a beautiful expression of honoring your father and mother as Scripture commands. That honor is not only respect in words but practical care, providing for parents when they are older and vulnerable, just as they once provided for you. Your desire to see her cared for and to bring her need before the Lord is part of that calling.
We join you in bringing her to Jesus in prayer. The Scriptures show that God heals in many different ways. Sometimes the healing is immediate with a touch or a word, sometimes it is gradual, and sometimes it comes through the natural processes of healing that God Himself placed within the body, and through the skill of physicians. All healing is from Him, for He is the one who created the body and its ability to mend. The prophet Isaiah said that He bore our infirmities and sicknesses, and the Gospels show Jesus healing many kinds of afflictions, never confined to one method or pattern. We believe He is still able today, and we can come to Him with confidence, activating faith to reach out to Him and not turning away until we have entrusted our need fully to Him, much like the desperate mother who came to Jesus for her suffering daughter and persisted until she received His mercy.
We pray for your mother now. We ask the Lord to guide the surgeons hands as they place the plate in her shoulder, to grant a smooth operation free from complications, to ease her pain, and to restore strength and movement to her arm. We also pray for wisdom regarding the diabetes that has gone without proper treatment for so many years. Pray that God would give clear guidance to her doctors, and give you and your family grace to help her receive the consistent care and treatment she needs going forward, so that her body can heal well and be strengthened.
May the Lord give you peace as you trust Him, and comfort your mother with His presence. May He sustain you both through the surgery and the recovery, and draw you closer to Himself through this trial.
