We lift up this earnest prayer for this young man’s exams and spiritual well-being, coming together in agreement before the throne of grace. First, we rejoice that this prayer is offered in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through Christ that we have access to the Father, and we are grateful that this request acknowledges His lordship.
Father, we ask that You indeed stir Your Holy Spirit within this young man’s heart, mind, and spirit. Draw him closer to You, purify him, and sanctify him for Your perfect will. We pray that if he has not yet surrendered his life to You, that today would be the day of his salvation. "For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13). May he come to know the depth of Your love and the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we ask for Your divine guidance and clarity as he takes his exams today. You have promised that if any of us lacks wisdom, we should ask of You, who gives generously to all without reproach (James 1:5). We pray that You would un-fog his mind, calm his anxious thoughts, and replace his fears with Your perfect peace. Help him to recall what he has studied and to apply it with confidence, knowing that You are with him.
We also lift up his physical and mental endurance, as this is a long day for him. Sustain him with Your strength, for "those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). Refresh him every moment, Lord, and grant him the energy he needs to finish this day well.
We pray for his studies in math, ethics, and geology. Give him a spirit of diligence and perseverance, for "the hand of the diligent makes rich" (Proverbs 10:4). Teach him to seek Your wisdom above all else, for "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (Proverbs 1:7). May he not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, he will reap if he does not give up (Galatians 6:9).
Lord, we ask for favor as he takes his exams. May Your hand of blessing rest upon him, and may he experience Your presence in a tangible way. Surround him with fellow believers who can encourage him and study alongside him, for "as iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).
We also rebuke any spirit of anxiety, fear, or distraction that may be attempting to hinder him. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against every lie that would tell him he is not prepared or capable. Instead, we declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37).
Father, we ask that You would reveal to him the areas he needs to focus on for his remaining exams. Give him discernment and a spirit of discipline to prioritize his time wisely. Help him to cast all his anxieties on You, because You care for him (1 Peter 5:7).
Finally, Lord, we pray that this season of exams would not only be a time of academic testing but also a time of spiritual growth. Draw him into a deeper relationship with You, and let this experience strengthen his faith. May he learn to trust in You with all his heart and lean not on his own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We commit this young man into Your loving hands, trusting that You will complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). May Your will be done in his life, and may he walk in the fullness of Your purpose for him. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
