We lift up your precious son before the throne of grace, joining our hearts with yours in fervent prayer. Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, yet full of hope, for we know that You are the God who hears, heals, and restores. Your Word tells us in Jeremiah 31:3, "I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you." Lord, we ask that You draw this young man near to You once again, breaking every chain of loneliness, depression, and inadequacy that seeks to bind him.
We rebuke the spirit of anger, anxiety, and lying in the mighty name of Jesus. These are not from You, Father, for Your Word declares in John 14:27, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful." We pray that You would fill him with Your perfect peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let him know, deep in his spirit, that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), created with purpose and value in Your eyes.
Father, we ask that You erase every thought of self-harm from his mind and spirit. Your Word is clear in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we bind every spirit of death and destruction that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy his life. We speak life, hope, and restoration over him in Jesus' name.
We also come before You with repentant hearts, acknowledging that we, as parents, are not perfect. We ask for Your forgiveness for the times we have failed to be the example our children needed, for not standing firm in faith, and for not protecting and guiding them as we should. Your Word tells us in James 5:16, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." We ask that You cancel every evil door that has been opened through our shortcomings, and we declare that no generational curse shall have power over this family. For Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (Galatians 3:13).
Father, we know that You desire none to perish but for all to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You would save this young man, aligning his will with Yours. Soften his heart to receive Your love and forgiveness, and help him to forgive those who have caused him pain, as well as himself. Your Word commands us in Ephesians 4:31-32, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." May he walk in the freedom that comes from forgiveness and extend grace to others as You have extended grace to him.
Lord, we pray that he would once again find his identity in You, serving You with joy and passion as he did before. Remind him of the gifts and talents You have placed within him, and use him mightily for Your kingdom. Help him to honor his father and mother, that it may be well with him and that he may live long on the earth (Ephesians 6:2-3). Guide his steps, Father, and let him dwell in the land You have prepared for him, enjoying the blessings and favor that come from walking in Your ways.
We declare that this is a season of restoration and miracles for this family. Your Word assures us in Joel 2:25, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you." We trust in Your promise of restoration, and we ask that You would do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think (Ephesians 3:20) in this young man's life.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His precious blood that we have access to Your throne of grace, and it is by His authority that we come against every scheme of the enemy. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for moving mightily on behalf of this family. May Your will be done in this young man's life, and may he come to know You more deeply, love You more fervently, and serve You more faithfully each day. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
