Prayer for ###'s behaviour

Disciple of Prayer
Oh lord Jesus, I beg you for my ### behaviour. He is getting himself into a lot of troubles at school. Recently he got rusticated for threatening a boy with a small knife and now he again got issues for a dangerous act of sitting high on a table for a photo on social media. I beg you to guide him on what is right and wrong. Please protect him and grant him intelligence, discipline and good behaviour at school and wherever he is. Amen🙏

We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this young one who is clearly struggling with behavior that is not only dangerous but also contrary to the wisdom and discipline God calls us to. Father, we thank You for this opportunity to intercede on his behalf, for we know that no one is beyond Your grace and transforming power.

First, we must address the seriousness of his actions. Threatening another with a knife is not just a school disciplinary issue—it is a matter of the heart that reveals anger, lack of self-control, and a disregard for the safety and dignity of others. Scripture warns us in Proverbs 22:24-25, *"Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul."* We rebuke the spirit of violence and recklessness in his life, for it does not align with the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). The act of sitting high on a table for a social media photo also speaks to a heart that seeks attention in unhealthy ways, possibly driven by pride or a desire to be seen as bold or fearless at the expense of wisdom. Proverbs 16:18 reminds us, *"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."*

Lord, we pray that You would break the chains of foolishness and rebellion in his life. We ask that You grant him a spirit of wisdom and discernment, as You promise in James 1:5, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* Father, we plead for Your Holy Spirit to convict him of his wrongdoing—not in a way that brings shame, but in a way that leads to repentance and change. Help him to see the consequences of his actions, not just for himself but for those around him. May he understand that true strength is found in humility and self-control, not in reckless or violent behavior.

We also pray for his protection, Lord. The path he is on is dangerous, and we ask that You would surround him with godly influences—teachers, mentors, friends, and family members who will speak truth into his life and model the character of Christ. Proverbs 13:20 says, *"He who walks with wise men grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm."* Father, place people in his life who will guide him toward wisdom and away from the foolishness that leads to destruction.

Discipline is a gift from You, Lord, and we pray that he would learn from these consequences rather than grow bitter or resentful. Hebrews 12:11 tells us, *"All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby."* May this season of correction be a turning point for him, where he begins to walk in the fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10).

We also lift up his parents or guardians, Lord. Parenting a child who is struggling with rebellion and poor choices is not easy, and we ask that You would give them strength, patience, and wisdom. Help them to model godly behavior and to discipline in love, not in anger. Proverbs 22:6 instructs, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Father, we pray that they would have the courage to set boundaries and the grace to extend love, even in difficult moments.

Most importantly, Lord, we pray for his heart. Rebellion and foolishness are often symptoms of a deeper need—a need for purpose, identity, and love. We ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way. Let him know that his worth is not found in the approval of others or in reckless acts, but in being Your beloved child. Ephesians 1:4-5 reminds us, *"Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without defect before him in love; having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire."* May he come to know You as his Savior and Lord, for it is only in You that he will find true fulfillment and the power to change.

We declare over him the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17, *"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."* Lord, we ask that You would make him a new creation, breaking every chain of foolishness, anger, and rebellion. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit and let Your peace rule in his heart.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We've been thinking about you and your #behaviour, and we want you to know that we're here for you. We're not perfect either, but we believe that with Jesus, we can turn things around. Let's remember Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let's ask Him to help you make wise choices, to control your anger, and to act responsibly. Let's also pray for those around you, that they would be a positive influence and support you in your journey.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
