I am sorry to know of your struggles with anxiety. Attempt to communicate individually with your friends and not as a group. Sometimes it is easier to bond on an individual basis. If speaking with your parents is difficult, try meeting with a counselor or friend as you need support and someone you can confide in.
You say you fear what will happen at the start of the school year - try to rest easy as you could end up with new friends. As we go through life, one always finds out who their true friends are - someone who is loyal and sticks by you in tough times. There will be times when someone you thought was your friend will turn their back on you.
Do not lose hope - continue your friendship with Jesus, letting Him guide you along life’s path. Praying for you in Jesus’ name -
Amen.

The wound of a friend’s rejection cuts deeper than any blow from an enemy, because you once held them close to your heart. But consider what kind of friendship truly deserves that name. A companion who sits at your table only when times are easy, who flees when suffering visits you, loves your prosperity, not your soul. Such a bond is no bond at all; it is a merchant’s contract, dissolved the moment the goods run out. If your friends withdraw from you now, they have shown what they always were. Grieve the loss, yes, but do not mistake it for the destruction of something holy. True friendship, the kind rooted in virtue and the fear of God, endures every change and remains constant. You have been seeking that stability in creatures who cannot provide it, and that is why your hope is draining away.

Turn your eyes instead to the friendship of Christ. He does not abandon the troubled heart. To His own He gives the deepest proof of intimacy, sharing secrets, promising eternal companionship, and strengthening the soul to bear every trial. When He allowed His own body to be spat upon and nailed to the wood, He showed you what it means to be His friend: not a life free from suffering, but a life in which suffering becomes the path to glory. You are a member of His body, and if you follow Him, you must bear the cross of loneliness, fear, and misunderstanding. This very affliction, then, is not the death of your hope; it is the school where hope is forged.

You say you live in constant fear of what will happen when school begins. That fear is a slackened sail. As long as your mind clings to earthly comfort and the approval of others, the wind of the Spirit cannot fill you, and you will only be tossed by anxieties. The rich man who fears losing his stores is more impoverished than the poor man who trusts God for daily bread. So cast out this worldly fear by a greater and holier fear: the fear of displeasing the One who feeds you from your youth up. When your heart is stretched taut toward heaven in urgent prayer, you will find that no earthly loss can truly harm you. Pray, then, not with a distracted and drooping soul, but with a mind on fire, crying out for His mercy as if clinging to the only rope in a storm.

Do not let your prayers be merely for the restoration of old comforts. Ask instead for the grace to see things as they are. If these companions turn back to you, receive them with love, but never again build your peace upon them. And if they do not, then thank God that He has removed from you what would hinder your soul. Hope does not reside in a circle of friends; it resides in a clear conscience and the promise of the world to come. Already the whole earth is bearing witness that God changes hearts, and your own rescue can be part of that great testimony. So fix your thoughts on the body of Christ, crucified yet triumphant, and know that you are not destroyed. You are being drawn, through a severe mercy, into a friendship that cannot fail.

It is deeply wearying to carry the ache of fractured friendships, especially when anxiety already weighs so heavily on your mind. The relational shifts that leave you isolated while others remain together can feel like a silent, prolonged break. You are not wrong to grieve that, and you are not weak for feeling drained by it. The desire for things to return to normal shows the love you genuinely have for those friends, and that love is not a small thing.

Yet in times like these, the emptiness of a world where human approval forms our foundation becomes painfully clear. Every achievement and every relationship, when made the ultimate thing, eventually reveals a hollow center. That disappointment, however painful, often drives us toward the only foundation that cannot crumble. You mentioned that amid the losing of hope, you have been trying to pray more and connect with the Lord Jesus. That is not a minor detail; it is the very place where hope is born again.

True hope is not vague optimism. It holds two parts: a strong desire and a firm expectation. Many people desire things they never expect to actually receive, and that gap becomes despair. But biblical hope rests on a promise that is utterly certain because it comes from a God who cannot lie. The world offers temporary restorations that may or may not come, but the living hope we have in Jesus is anchored in His resurrection. Even when everything around you seems to shake, including friendships, there is an incorruptible inheritance, a future, and a present peace that cannot be taken away. That hope does not ignore your current pain; it undergirds you in it.

You have asked for the restoration of your life and your hope. Take heart that the God of all hope is able to fill you with joy and peace, not as a reward for perfect circumstances, but as fruit of trusting Him. The Holy Spirit works through the Scriptures to make that hope abound in your heart, so keep pressing into His word. When the psalmist felt cast down and disquieted, he spoke to his own soul and then fixed his mind on God’s steadfast love. Your prayer to reconnect with Jesus is exactly the right response. Your hope for mended relationships can be laid before the throne, but your peace cannot depend on the outcome. When your expectation is set on who He is and what He has promised, you can walk into that new school year knowing you are kept by a power far greater than your social standing.

It is also right to remember that the fear of the Lord, that reverent awe at His goodness and greatness, is the starting point of true wisdom. It shifts our focus from the overwhelming fears and anxieties of high school hallways to the stability of His character. That wisdom will guide your words, your reactions, and your capacity to love, even when it is not returned. Whether or not your friend group is restored, the love that flows from abiding in Christ is never wasted. Continue to entrust your heart to Him. He sees the love you have for these friends, He understands the exhaustion of your mind, and He holds a blessed hope before you that no earthly fracture can extinguish.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart to lift you up before the Lord, asking Him to bring restoration to your relationships, peace to your anxious heart, and renewed hope as you navigate this difficult season. We have prayed specifically for God to mend what has been broken, to surround you with His comfort, and to remind you of His unfailing love, even when circumstances feel overwhelming.

If the Lord has moved in your situation—whether through a softened heart in your friend group, a moment of unexpected peace, or a renewed sense of His presence—we would love to hear your praise report. Your testimony could be an encouragement to others who are walking through similar struggles.

If, however, the burden still feels heavy and the restoration you’ve hoped for hasn’t yet come, please know that we are still here to stand with you. We invite you to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on your behalf, believing with you for God’s healing and reconciliation. You are not alone in this, and we are committed to lifting you up until you see His faithfulness in every area of your life.

May the Lord draw near to you as you seek Him, filling you with His peace that surpasses understanding and His hope that does not disappoint. We pray that He would strengthen your faith, renew your joy, and guide you step by step as you trust in Him. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
