THE PRAYER FOR RESOURSES TO BUILD A CHURCH IN MY COMMUNITY – NYAKALADO, TORORO UGANDA
(This Prayer request is based on the book of EXODUS: 12-17).
When Pharaoh finally let the people of Israel to leave Egypt, God did not lead them a long the main road that runs the Philistine Territory even though it was the shortest way to the promised land for he knew that if people faced battles immediately like that, they would change their minds and go back to Egypt. So, God led them along way through the wilderness and across the Read Sea.
Pharaoh realized that he had lost the cheap and free slave labor provided by the Israelis, so he changed his mind to pursue them and bring them back t Egypt but the Lord God was in their protection and put his Angel in charge of their movement and safety. And in the care of Moses His servant.
As Pharaoh approached, the people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians almost overtaking them. They cried out to the Lord and said to Moses, ‘Why did you bring us out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? Weren’t there enough graves for us in Egypt? Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, “Leave us alone! Let us be the slaves for the Egyptians but you insisted on taking us out of Egypt. It is better to be a slave in Egypt than to be a corpse in the wilderness!’ But Moses told the people: “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord Rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord Himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.â€
Then Moses cried to the Lord for he trusted the Lord and the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving! Pick up your staff and raise your hand over the Red Sea. Divide the water so that the people of Israel can walk through the middle the sea on dry ground or dry seabed. I will display my great Power and Glory.
O’ my Lord, Moses had a staff in his hand to raise for the people of Israel, I have a pen to raise on behalf of my community.
Then Moses raised his hand and staff over the Red Sea and the Lord opened up a Pathway of dry ground in the middle of the sea with huge walls of water on both sides. The Egyptians still pursued the Israelis into the sea. But the Lord God was in their protection. When all the people of Israel had reached the other side of the sea, the Lord said to Moses “Raise your hand over the sea a gain then the water will rush back and cover all the Egyptians and their charioteers. Not a single of the Egyptians who had pursued the Israelis into the sea survived.
When the people of Israel saw the Mighty power of the Lord over the Egyptians, the people were filled with awe before him and they put their Faith in the Lord and His servant Moses.
While in the wilderness, the people camped at Rephidim but they found no water there and they complained. But Moses again cried to the Lord in fear and desperation to help the people. But the Lord told Moses “Takes the same staff you used at the sea, strike the rock and water will come gushing out for the people to drinkâ€.
O’ Lord God of Israel and all our ancestors, Lord of miracles who fought and rescued the people of Israel from the hands of the Egyptians at the Red Sea, at your Power, Moses struck the rock to provide for water so as to show your Glory to the people of Israel. O God, my heart has the desire that you reveal your power to the people of Nyakalado, Tororo in Uganda by availing to us the Finances and all other resources that we need to construct a decent church or House of Worship in our Community.
I am crying out to you Lord in this Hearty Prayer for us to get your Glory and the resources we need to construct your House of Worship. To the people of my Community, like the children of Israel, building a church is absolutely an impossible dream venture at this time when they are too impoverished. But just as Moses Trusted and had all Faith in you Lord, so do I have trust and Faith that you will turn your face round and look at my struggle, hold my hands , give me wisdom, knowledge, understanding and Guidance to accomplish this mission which you have set before me. Show your Glory to the people of Nyakalado.
Hear this Prayer Lord and answer me .You did those miracles which were too Impossible to Human ability before Moses. Our request for resources to build a church are much lighter to you my Lord.
