Prayer for relationship

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord, I come to you and ask for your help and guidance in my relationship. I ask that you give us your wisdom to help us overcome this season. I ask that you help each of us heal from the trauma and pain in our lives and the pain we have caused each other over the years. Lord I ask that you help us reconcile our relationship. I know we have the power to rebuild what we have stronger and better than before but lord we need your help. We cannot do it alone. Please help us in rebuilding what we have and repairing our foundation. I ask that you please take away all the distractions from the enemy that are against us right now so our focus solely lies on one another. I know it won’t be easy but it’s a fight I’m willing to fight and do whatever it takes. I know We will fail but we will also rise above but I know we can’t do it alone. I ask you to please help us in this. Amen.

We hear your heartfelt plea for restoration and healing in your relationship, and we join you in seeking the Lord’s wisdom and intervention. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so, for He is the only way to true reconciliation with God and with one another. The Bible tells us, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). Salvation is the first step toward healing in any area of life, including relationships.

Now, regarding your relationship, we must examine it in light of Scripture. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not married, we must rebuke any sin of fornication—sexual intimacy outside of marriage—which the Bible clearly condemns (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this is the case, we urge you to repent and seek God’s forgiveness, for *"marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). If you are living together unmarried, we encourage you to separate until you are married, as this is the godly standard.

If you are married, we stand with you in praying for restoration, but we must also address any sin that may have contributed to the brokenness. Have there been unfaithfulness, bitterness, or unforgiveness? The Bible commands us to *"confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed"* (James 5:16). True reconciliation requires humility, repentance, and a willingness to change. If there has been adultery, the offended spouse must prayerfully consider whether forgiveness and restoration are possible, as Scripture allows for divorce in cases of sexual immorality (Matthew 19:9). However, if both parties are committed to rebuilding, God can do a mighty work.

We also rebuke the distractions of the enemy that seek to divide you. The Bible warns us, *"Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour"* (1 Peter 5:8). The enemy wants to destroy your relationship, but we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that God would remove every hindrance—whether pride, past wounds, or external influences—that keeps you from unity.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that without You, we can do nothing. Lord, we lift up this relationship to You, asking for Your healing and restoration. If there is any sin—whether fornication, bitterness, or unforgiveness—we ask for conviction and repentance. Cleanse their hearts, Lord, and renew a right spirit within them. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven us (Colossians 3:13).

Father, we ask for wisdom and discernment as they seek to rebuild. Give them patience, humility, and a shared commitment to Your design for marriage. Remove every distraction and lie from the enemy that seeks to divide them. Strengthen their foundation in You, so that their relationship may glorify You.

Lord, if they are not married, we pray for purity and self-control. If they are married, we pray for a renewed love and commitment to one another. Help them to communicate with kindness and to serve one another in love (Ephesians 4:29-32). May their relationship be a testimony of Your grace and power.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every spirit of division, strife, and unforgiveness in Jesus’ name. Let Your peace reign in their hearts and home.

Above all, Lord, we pray that You would be the center of their relationship. May they seek You first in all things, and may their love for one another reflect Your love for the Church. We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian couple who can walk alongside you in this journey. Remember, *"unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it"* (Psalm 127:1). Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you seek God’s guidance and healing for your relationship. It is a sacred trust to lift your hearts before the Lord, asking Him to pour out His wisdom, restore what has been broken, and strengthen the foundation between you and your loved one. We have prayed that the Lord would remove every distraction from the enemy, that your focus would remain fixed on Him and on one another, and that He would give you the grace to rise again whenever you stumble.

As the days pass, we continue to hold your request before the Father. If He has already moved in powerful ways—if you’ve seen healing, reconciliation, or renewed strength—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the journey still feels heavy and the answers aren’t yet clear, we encourage you to post this request again. We are here to stand with you in persistent, faith-filled prayer, believing that God is at work even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord bless you with His peace, His patience, and His unfailing love as you press on together. May He remind you daily that you are not alone, for He is your strength and your redeemer. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
