Prayer for protection

Your request for protection over your marriage and family has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

We pray that God, who ordained marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and who calls it honorable, will guard your marriage. We ask Him to place a hedge of protection around you and your husband, to preserve love and unity between you, and to keep you both in peace and holiness, living faithfully with one another as He intends.

We pray for those who persecute and mistreat you. We ask that the Lord would frustrate every evil plan formed against your marriage, that those plans would be exposed and come to nothing, and that what was meant for evil God would turn around for your good, according to His promise to work all things for good for those who love Him. Above all we pray that those who oppose you would come to repentance and to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved.

We pray that the Lord would cut off every ungodly influence and interference that brings discord into your marriage, and that He would help you and your husband to cleave to one another and to the Lord, walking in purity and faithfulness. May your home be filled with grace, order, and mutual honor.

We also lift up your husband to the Lord and ask for wisdom for him as he makes decisions for your family and finances. We pray that God would give him a clear mind, godly counsel, and strength to walk in his calling to provide for and lead your family with integrity, diligence, and love, trusting the Lord as the true provider while faithfully doing his part.

May the Lord give you both courage under pressure, comfort in trial, and perseverance in prayer. Cast your cares on Him, remain steadfast in love and forgiveness while also seeking wise and safe boundaries, and continue to look to Christ who is our peace and our refuge.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your honest burden for your marriage and your family has been heard, and your desire to see God protect what He has joined together is right and good. God designed marriage so that two become one, a deep and complete unity. When He says the two shall be one flesh, He speaks of a compound unity where two lives are woven into one life before Him. That oneness is what the enemy always seeks to divide, and it is what God promises to guard and strengthen.

It is painful when the wounding comes from within your own family. Scripture shows that even those who walked closely with Jesus faced misunderstanding and opposition from those nearest to them. Jesus taught that the bond we have in Him is deeper than even blood ties, and when family members do not know Him, that natural bond can become a source of persecution rather than comfort. The Bible also tells us that those who seek to live godly in Christ will face persecution, and that when hardship comes because of the Word, we must be rooted and grounded in the Word so we are not moved. Your experience of being mistreated and targeted is not unseen by God.

We join you in praying for protection over your marriage. We ask the Lord to place a hedge around your union, to expose every hidden plan formed against you, and to cause those plans to come to nothing. As Joseph said to his brothers, what others meant for evil, God is able to turn for good for those who love Him. We pray that every scheme intended to bring shame or division would be brought into the light and fall to the ground, and that God would redeem the hurt and use it to strengthen your love and unity.

We also pray for those family members who have hurt you. Our greatest hope for them is not only that their actions would be stopped, but that their hearts would be changed. We ask God to bring them to repentance and to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for He is the only Redeemer who can truly transform a heart and restore a family. He is the One who redeems and restores what has been broken, and who can give a new name and a new future.

We pray with you for the breaking of every ungodly tie that is bringing interference and discord into your marriage. Any influence, attachment, or outside control that pulls either of you away from wholehearted devotion to God and to one another has no right to remain. We ask God to cut those cords and to establish your marriage in purity, loyalty, and peace, with Christ at the center.

And we pray for your husband, that God would grant him clear, godly wisdom in every financial decision and strengthen him to be the provider and protector God has called him to be for your family. We ask for discernment to choose what honors the Lord, courage to lead with integrity, and provision from the Lord's hand as he seeks to care for you faithfully.

May the Lord lift you up as He lifted up the sick and weary in the Gospels, bringing healing to your home. May He root you both deeply in His Word, keep you in His peace, and knit your hearts together in ever deepening love and unity. We are asking God to keep you, to guard your marriage, and to let His goodness and redemption be clearly seen in your lives.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord asking for His protection over you from persecution and mistreatment and for His hand of protection over your marriage against every evil plan. We have prayed that the Lord would bring those who have come against you to repentance and salvation and that every hidden plan would be exposed and fall to the ground and that what was meant for evil would be turned around for your good according to Gen 50:20 and Rom 8:28. We have also prayed for love and unity to be restored in your marriage and for every ungodly soul tie causing interference and discord to be broken in the name of Jesus and for wisdom for your husband to make godly choices concerning your financial situation and to walk in the role of provider that God has made him to be for your family. We stand on the promise that what God has joined together let no one separate as written in Matt 19:6 and that He is our refuge and fortress according to Psalm 91:1.
