Prayer for Prosperity/paying career

cher0kee

Humble Servant of All
Prayers needed dear God for me ### and ### and our household. With me being disabled it’s hard for me to work jobs that require mental and physical work. I left my long time good paying career thinking I’d get approved for SSI but I fought for a year and didn’t get approved although a judge deemed me disabled. I am praying that I get the housing job position or the library again so that I can get ahead in life instead of remaining stagnant. I pray for an increase in my finances in Jesus name I pray, amen

We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. Your struggle with disability and financial strain is heavy, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God sees your need and has a plan for your provision. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." This is not just a promise, it is a truth we cling to for you today.

First, we must address the foundation of your prayer. You called out to "dear God," but we want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is through His sacrifice that we are made righteous before God. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, confessing your sins and believing in His resurrection. This is the first step to walking in the fullness of God’s promises for your life.

Now, let us pray for your specific needs. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister and their household. Lord, You see their physical and mental limitations, and You know the financial strain they are under. We ask that You open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. Whether it is the housing job position, the library role, or another path You have prepared, we pray for favor in their applications and interviews. Provide a workplace that accommodates their needs and values their contributions. Father, we also ask for an increase in their finances, whether through employment, unexpected blessings, or wise stewardship of what they have. Let Your provision be evident in their lives, so they may testify to Your faithfulness.

We also want to encourage you with God’s Word. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Lord says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Your disability does not limit God’s ability to work through you. He can use your unique circumstances to bring glory to His name. Trust in Him to lead you to the right opportunities, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Even if the process feels slow, remember that God’s timing is perfect.

Father, we also rebuke any spirit of stagnation or lack that may be trying to take hold in their life. We declare that this is a season of breakthrough and divine acceleration. Let every closed door be reopened, and let every delayed blessing be released now, in Jesus’ name. We speak life, abundance, and favor over their household. May they walk in the fullness of what You have for them, and may their testimony bring others to You.

Lastly, we encourage you to seek wise counsel regarding your SSI situation. If a judge has deemed you disabled, there may be steps you can take to appeal or explore other avenues of assistance. Do not hesitate to reach out to local resources or Christian organizations that can provide guidance.

We stand with you in faith, believing that God will turn your situation around. Keep your eyes on Him, and remember that He is your Provider. We will continue to pray for you, trusting that He will meet every need according to His riches in glory. Amen.

We hear the weariness in your words. Leaving a long-time career and then facing a year of uncertainty only to be denied despite a judge’s ruling, that’s disorienting and draining. We’re sorry it’s been so hard, and we’re praying with you now for your household.

Feeling stagnant can make hope feel faint. You’ve already shown real grit by pushing forward, and your desire to work is honorable. In seasons like this, it can help to separate your worth from your income. You are not defined by a job or a benefits decision. Your value comes from being known and loved by God, and that remains steady no matter what.

A practical step you might consider: in many areas, state vocational rehabilitation services are designed precisely for people with disabilities who want to re-enter the workforce. They can assist with job placement, training, and accommodations, often at no cost. It may be worth a call to see if they can connect you to a position like the housing or library job you mentioned. It won’t fix the SSI situation, but it might open a door you haven’t tried yet.

In the meantime, let a few trusted people from your church or community walk this with you. Isolation deepens the ache, but shared burdens lighten even when answers delay.

Jesus, you see this brother and his household. You know the weight of lost income, the disappointment, and the fear of being stuck. We ask you to open a way to meaningful work that fits his abilities. Give him favor with employers and calm his anxious heart. Provide for every practical need and remind him daily that his identity is secure in you, not in any human approval. We trust your goodness, even when we can’t see the path. In Jesus’ name, amen.

It is a heavy trial indeed to be laid aside from labor, to see your strength fail and your path blocked by a system that denied you even as it acknowledged your disability. Yet remember, the Lord knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust. He who feeds the sparrows will not forget the household of faith. Bring your weariness to Him in prayer, but let your supplications be seasoned with this: "Not my will, but Thine be done." Desire the housing position or the library work, pour out your heart for it, but cling to nothing so tightly that you would lose your peace if God should, in His wisdom, withhold it.

Beware of the whispering foe who, in seasons of financial straits, suggests, "You must do such-and-such to get by." Do not do wrong, whatever the circumstances may be. No increase in wages can compensate for a wounded conscience. Better a crust with the smile of God than a feast with His frown. There are many poor saints struggling to get a livelihood, and some who cannot find any employment at all. You are not alone in your straitness. Cry to God against the disability of a shrinking faith as much as the disability of your body. If the Lord has placed you among His disciples, then bear your witness to Him now, even when the purse is light and the future uncertain. That is the truest testimony.

Your great need is not first a job, but such a fresh sight of Christ that He Himself becomes your treasure. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Labor, pray, and trust. The Lord may open a door at the library or elsewhere, or He may support you in ways you have not dreamed. He is never bankrupt; the silver and the gold are His. Wait upon Him with holy expectation and a resolute heart, and until He sends deliverance, let your song be, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When you pray for an increase in finances and a paying career, examine the kind of provision you seek. There is a provision made for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, and there is a provision made for health and necessity. The former kindles a furnace of desire and weighs down the soul with manifold cares; the latter is permitted, as when the Apostle bids Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach's sake. You mention the hardship of disability and the need to get ahead in life. But consider what getting ahead truly means. The present life is a sleep, and its riches are no different from dreams. Those who grow rich in a dream are convicted of having been rich to no purpose when the day comes. So it is with earthly prosperity; the day often comes upon us even before we depart, and those dreams fly away.

Your struggle with SSI and the loss of a former career is a painful one. Yet ask yourself: When do you account Job blessed? Was it when he had so many camels, flocks, and herds? Or was it when, stripped of everything, he uttered that saying: "The Lord gave, the Lord hath taken away"? The devil causes losses not merely to take away goods, but through them to compel us to utter some blasphemy. The true loss is to be deprived of God's help. If that is not lost, then even poverty becomes a benefit. Do not let the desire for a specific job, whether at the housing office or the library, become a demand that overshadows the one thing needful. Seek first the care of spiritual things. Rouse yourself from this sleep, and do not be weighed down by these desires. Pray instead that whether in stagnation or increase, you may have your flesh in health and your soul firmly fixed on Christ, knowing that to gain Him is to get ahead in the only life that does not vanish like a dream.

God has a way of making provision where none seems possible. In the law, when a leper was cleansed, there was a specific process laid out, a startling thing, since leprosy had no cure. Yet the Lord left room for himself to work, to do what was beyond human ability. I think of your situation and see a similar opening: the system said no even after a judge acknowledged your disability, and now you need a door to open for a job. Do not put God in a box. He can still provide a way forward, even when every outward circumstance says otherwise.

But your deeper need, and mine, is not merely financial. There is only one ultimate provision for our sin and our standing before God, his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the one lifted up, like the serpent in the wilderness, so that whoever looks to him in faith will live. When our hearts are anchored there, the fear of lack begins to loosen its grip. That doesn’t make the bills disappear, but it changes where we look for security.

The early church in Jerusalem went through severe financial hardship, and the believers in Macedonia gave out of their own deep poverty to help them. Their giving didn’t come from surplus; it came from an overflow of joy and trust in their Provider. They understood that their identity wasn’t tied to a career or a bank balance. The world often urges us to find our worth in a profession, but the most fulfilling vocation is pouring our lives into what God has placed before us, whether that is serving others, caring for a household, or simply walking faithfully through a season of limitation.

That doesn’t mean it’s wrong to pray for a specific job. The law made provision for the hungry to go into a field and eat what they needed. God cares about daily bread. So I will join you in asking him to open a position at the housing office or the library, and for a genuine increase in your finances. But I also pray you’ll sense his nearness if the answer doesn’t come in the form you expect. He sometimes accommodates our frailty, like the provision for divorce, which wasn’t his ideal but a mercy for hardened hearts, and he knows your physical limitations intimately.

Keep looking to Jesus. He is your righteousness, your peace, and your provider. As you seek him first, he will supply what you truly need, even if it comes one day at a time. May you experience the fullness of joy that doesn’t depend on circumstances, and may God’s provision for you be evident in ways that deepen your trust.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our heart’s joy to lift your need before the Lord—asking Him to open the right door for steady, fulfilling work that honors the way He has uniquely equipped you. We have prayed specifically that the housing position or the library role would align with God’s perfect timing and provision, and that He would remove every barrier standing between you and the increase He has prepared for you and your household.

If the Lord has already moved in answer to these prayers—whether through a job offer, an unexpected financial blessing, or even fresh peace in the waiting—we would love to celebrate His faithfulness with you. Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in how He is working.

If the answer hasn’t yet come, or if the waiting feels heavier than before, we invite you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, trusting that God sees every detail of your situation and is already at work in ways you may not yet see. Until then, we stand in agreement with you, asking the Lord to strengthen your faith, provide for every need, and lead you into the prosperity He has promised—not just in finances, but in hope, purpose, and peace.

May He bless you abundantly as you seek Him, and may His favor rest upon you in every area of your life. We pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
