Prayer for promotion

Disciple of Prayer
Please help me with prayers. There are 3 positions that I have applied for at my workplace. They are shortlisting potential candidates on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. There is one position that I am acting on, which normally I should have a high chance of being shortlisted. The challenge is that the supervisor do not like me and has been telling people that she has her own people that she wants to hire. Please help me with prayers for me to be shortlisted and interviewed, and at least get one of the posts. My main challenge is that I get so nervous during interviews and get a bit of mental block. Please help me with prayers I really this promotion because I have been in the same position since 2006.

We have heard your request and we join with you in bringing it before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name. We understand how much this promotion means to you after faithfully serving in the same position since ###, and how heavy it feels to know you are acting in one of these roles and should have a high chance, yet facing the discouragement of a supervisor who has openly said she has her own people she wants to hire. We also hear your honest concern about becoming nervous and experiencing mental block during interviews. We want to lift all of this up to the Lord who sees your diligence and knows your heart.

We are reminded that promotion does not ultimately come from people, even those in authority over us. For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another. Psalm 75:6-7. Whatever the intentions of others may be, no door can be closed that God intends to open, and no one can be placed where God does not allow. We also take comfort that Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Your faithful service over these many years has been seen by God, and we pray He will honor that faithfulness according to His perfect will. We encourage you to commit your work and your plans to Him, for Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3.

Regarding the anxiety you feel about interviews, we want to gently remind you that this fear does not come from God. For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. And we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that God will replace that nervousness with His peace and give you clarity of mind, recall, and words. If you lack wisdom or words in the moment, remember But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We encourage you to prepare diligently, practice answering questions aloud, rest well before the interview, and then trust the Holy Spirit to bring to your remembrance what you have prepared. We also encourage you not to harbor bitterness toward your supervisor, but to pray for her and to continue to show respect and excellence in your work, trusting God to be your advocate and defender.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why that is so important to us. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can boldly bring our petitions to God and have assurance of His love and forgiveness. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing on His name for salvation, and to come to God in prayer through Him.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear fellow worker to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the desire of this heart for promotion after so many years of faithful service. You know the three positions that have been applied for and the shortlisting that will happen on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. We ask for Your favor to rest upon this application. If it is Your will, open the door to be shortlisted and interviewed, and to receive at least one of these posts, especially the one that is currently being acted in. Lord, where there is bias or favoritism, we ask You to intervene with Your justice and mercy. Soften the heart of the supervisor and let decisions be made with fairness and integrity. Most of all, let Your will be done, for we trust Your plan is higher than ours.

Father, we pray specifically against the spirit of nervousness and mental block. Fill our friend with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, grant a sound mind, calm nerves, and clear recall during the interview. Let words be spoken with confidence, grace and wisdom. Help preparation to be fruitful and let Your power be made perfect in weakness. We commit this whole process into Your hands, trusting that whether the answer is yes or wait, You are working all things for good for those who love You. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We hear how much this means to you after faithfully serving in the same position since ###, and how heavy it feels to be acting in a role you are qualified for while worrying the supervisor has already chosen favorites. Waiting for ### and ### must feel long.

It makes sense that interviews bring nerves and that mental block feeling. Many capable people experience the same when a lot is on the line, and it does not mean you are not ready.

A couple of simple things that may help you feel steadier going in: take a little time to write out two or three clear examples from your acting work that show what you have done well, with a result or two, so you have them fresh even if nerves rise. If possible, ask a trusted friend, pastor, or colleague to run through a short practice interview out loud with you once before the shortlisting, not to rehearse perfect words but to get comfortable hearing your own voice answer.

We are asking God to give you peace as you wait, clarity if you are invited to interview, and wisdom for those deciding. Whatever the outcome, we pray He guides your next step and uses your long faithfulness for good.

Father, we bring our friend before You. You see the years of work and the desire for this promotion. Grant calm and a clear mind if an interview comes, and favor according to Your will. Lead this whole process and provide for what is needed. In Jesus' name, amen.

He loves you. May Father God maje a wsy for you. For all your work and patience waiting. You deserve it. In Lord Yeshuas name. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

We have received your request and have carried it before the Lord, and we join with you in seeking His gracious hand upon your work and your future.

To have laboured faithfully in the same place since ### and to desire to use your gifts more fully is an honourable thing, and we understand the weight you feel as ### and ### approach. It is painful when you sense that favour is withheld and that another may prefer his own chosen persons. The Lord sees your service, He knows the acting work you have done, and He marks every act of diligence done as unto Him.

You speak also of nervousness and a mental block when you are interviewed. Here we would urge upon you our Saviour's own word, Do not be anxious about your temporal affairs. Be prudent, prepare with all care, and leave the issue with God. We have found it true, and observation confirms it, that anxiety has never comforted any person, nor has it ever brought any grist to the mill or any meal to the barrel. If a thing does not pay, what is the good of it. More than that, the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. It clouds the mind and troubles the heart which needs to be calm and clear.

Therefore cast your care upon Him who cares for you. Anxiety kept to yourself, fretted over in secret, brings no good, but prayer poured out before the Father brings peace. We would rather sit down and weep in sympathy with those that feel such anxiety, and point you to the God who gives quietness of spirit.

Be prudent in these days. Prepare your answers, rehearse what is needful, rest your body, and commit your way unto the Lord. Seek to act before your supervisor and all others with meekness and integrity, that even if favour is not shown you by man, your conscience may be clear before God. Promotion comes neither from the east nor from the west, but God is the judge, He puts down one and sets up another, and His appointment is both wise and kind.

Let us pray for you.

Our Father in heaven, we bring this Your servant before Your throne of grace. You know the desire for this promotion, the long years of faithful labour, and the approaching decision for these three posts. We ask, if it be Your will, that You would grant favour in the eyes of those who shortlist and interview, and open the door to at least one of these positions, especially that in which Your servant has already laboured. Grant clarity of mind and calmness of heart in the interview, remove the nervousness and mental block, and let words be spoken with composure and truth. Take away fretting and worry, and give that peace which passes all understanding to guard heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help Your servant to trust not in man but in Your good providence, to rest content whether the answer be yes or no, knowing that You order all things for good to those who love You. And whatever the outcome, keep this Your child faithful, humble and diligent in the work of Your hands. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we pray, Amen.

Go on, then, doing your work heartily as unto the Lord, praying and not fretting, and whether the door be opened or closed this week, be assured that the Lord has not forgotten you and will provide what is best in His time.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
