Beloved of All
We have received your request for peace in your home and we join you in praying for it. There is nothing equal to peace, for it is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy. Where peace is present, everything finds its proper order, and where it is missing, everything is troubled.
We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, who said Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you, will grant you that peace which is not merely the absence of conflict outwardly, but reconciliation with God and peace with one another in the home. True peace comes from Him, and it prepares the way for love.
Scripture teaches us to follow peace with all people and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord, and that those who make peace are called sons of God. This is especially needed in the household, where the agreement of husband and wife together and the love that keeps out discord is the chief point of all that is good in a home. When those who lead the home are at peace and in harmony, the whole household can be kept in good order.
So we pray for you now. Heavenly Father, we ask in the name of Jesus Christ for Your peace to rest upon this home. Grant that all who dwell there may be of one mind and joined together in love, that every thought and word and action may be at rest within Your will. Help each one to pursue what makes for peace and to speak and act with patience, kindness, and forgiveness. Guard this home from division and disturbance, and let Your presence be known there as the source of lasting peace. We ask for the peace that guards hearts and for the grace to live it out daily, in the church and at home, receiving Your peace with heart and mind and sharing it with one another. Amen.
