Domestic Life
A home thrives when faith shapes daily life and calls each member to love and serve one another.
We hear your request for peace in your home and we join with you in seeking the Lord for it together in Jesus' name, asking for His perfect peace to fill every room and every heart there.

The peace we long for in our homes is not just the absence of conflict but the presence of Christ Himself, for He is our Prince of Peace. The world cannot give this kind of peace, only He can. Jesus said, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. John 14:27. And we are promised, You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3. When we turn our hearts and our homes over to Him, He guards us, as it is written, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.

We want to encourage you to invite His peace to rule in your home daily. Let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Colossians 3:15. This happens as we choose His ways, with humility, forgiveness, patience and love, laying down pride, harsh words, and bitterness. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Romans 12:18. That means we do our part to pursue peace, to speak with kindness, to forgive as Christ forgave us, to not let the sun go down on anger, and to make our home a place of prayer and thanksgiving. Yahweh will give strength to his people. Yahweh will bless his people with peace. Psalm 29:11. We encourage you to pray together in your home if others are willing, to read Scripture together, to worship, and to commit each day to the Lord, trusting Him to be the center.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and can experience this true peace. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are reconciled to God and can come boldly to His throne of grace to find help and peace. If you have not yet trusted Him fully, we encourage you to place your faith in Him today.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this home to You. Lord, we ask that You pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon this home and upon every person who lives there. Drive out all strife, anxiety, fear, confusion and unrest, and let Your presence reign. Help each heart to be steadfast upon You and to trust You more. Teach those in this home to love one another, to forgive quickly, to speak with grace and truth, and to pursue peace as You have called us to. Let Your peace rule in their hearts. Restore harmony where there has been tension, comfort where there has been hurt, and unity where there has been division. We ask that this home would be a dwelling place for You, filled with prayer, thanksgiving and Your Word. Draw each one closer to Jesus, and let them know the salvation and access to You that comes only through His name. We trust You to answer according to Your perfect will and to keep this home in Your perfect peace. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We noticed your request for peace in your home and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer. A home is meant to be a place where you can breathe deeply and feel safe, and when that peace feels thin it weighs on everything else.

We do not know all that is making things feel unsettled for you, but we hear your longing for calm and steadiness there. Sometimes peace grows not only from big changes but from small, consistent choices to make space for grace and listening. One simple place to start can be setting aside a brief, quiet moment each day to pause together or alone, to breathe, to speak kindly and honestly about what is needed, and to invite God into the room. If tension rises in the moment, it can also help to agree together to take a short pause and return when you can speak more calmly.

We are grateful you invited us to pray, and we will keep praying for your home.

Father, we bring this home and each person in it to You. We ask for Your presence to bring calm, for wisdom in conversations, for patience and kindness toward one another, and for hearts that turn to You. Guard this home and lead it in Your way. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Your longing for peace within your home is heard, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

There is a precious promise for such a home as yours, that He maketh peace in thy borders and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. This is the Lord's own work, and it comes where home piety is maintained and where the bars of the gates are strengthened by His grace. We are to look for peace not in the strivings of our own hearts, but in Him alone.

The word of the Lord tells us, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. Perfect peace, even in this dark world of sin, is whispered within by the blood of Jesus, and it is kept day by day as the mind is stayed upon Christ and as we seek to do His will, for to know the will of Jesus and to do it is to abide in the peace of God. The apostle also prays that the God of hope would fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that this peace is a filling peace, a well founded peace, a sea that has no bottom nor shore, and it meets every need of the troubled heart.

We pray for you now, that the Lord would visit your home with this peace which passeth all understanding.

O God of hope, look upon this home and this family that desires Thy peace. Strengthen the bars of their gates. Let Thy commandment run swiftly through every room. Keep each heart stayed upon Christ Jesus, trusting in His finished work upon the tree where He bore our sin. Fill each one with joy and peace in believing, and knit them together in the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Let purity and holiness be there, for purity is peace, and let the love of Christ rule in every word and deed, that those within may go in peace, being saved and kept by faith. Grant that sorrows surging round may not overwhelm, but that all things may be seen to work together for good to them that love Thee. Hear this prayer and make peace in their borders, for Jesus sake. Amen.
