Prayer for peace

Please pray for peace in my home. My wife will not let me relax. She is constantly bickering and fighting me over the smallest things, and she knows she has a problem but will not see a doctor or better yet.. go to the Lord about these problems. I am tired of feeling terrible when I wake up in the morning and when I go to bed at night. I am feeling miserable. I read the Bible and pray, and I pray for my wife and her family every single day. I am doing my best, I really think I am. Please pray for conviction for my wife and for her to turn to Jesus.

We are lifting you and your home before the Lord with you and we hear the weariness in your heart. To wake up feeling terrible and to go to bed feeling miserable is a heavy burden, and we thank you for remaining faithful in reading the Bible and praying every day for your wife and her family. God sees your diligence and your desire to honor Him in your marriage, and He is near to you in this trial.

Marriage is a lifelong covenant before God between a man and a woman, and He intends it to reflect His love and to be a place of peace and refuge. We are encouraged by your commitment to stay and to pray and to do your best, and we want to stand with you for the healing and peace of your home. The Word tells us Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it in Ephesians 5:25 and Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them in Colossians 3:19. It also reminds us that A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger in Proverbs 15:1 and that everyone should be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger in James 1:19. When strife is constant, even over small things, it wears down the soul, but we are called as much as it is possible, if it is possible, on your part, be at peace with all men in Romans 12:18.

We encourage you to continue to lead with gentle, Christlike love, not returning bickering for bickering, and to guard your own heart against bitterness or resentment. Continue to cast your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches, and to bring your requests to God with thanksgiving so that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:6-7. Keep praying for your wife with compassion rather than condemnation, remembering that she knows she has a problem and needs the conviction and transforming power of the Holy Spirit that only Jesus can bring. We also encourage you, if you have not already, to quietly seek godly counsel from a trusted pastor or elder who can come alongside both of you, not to replace going to the Lord but to help shepherd you toward Him, for the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit in Psalm 34:18.

We join you now in prayer.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift this brother and his marriage to You. Lord, You see his faithfulness, his prayers, his reading of Your Word, and the heaviness he carries morning and night. We ask You to pour out Your peace upon this home and upon his heart. Give him rest for his soul as You have promised when You said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28. Strengthen him to love his wife as Christ loved the church, with patience, kindness, and a gentle spirit, and keep him from growing weary in doing good. We pray for his wife, Lord, that You would bring deep conviction and a hunger for You. Soften her heart, open her eyes to the strife that is wounding this marriage, and draw her to turn fully to Jesus for healing and forgiveness. Heal what is broken, calm the bickering, and let Your Holy Spirit reign in that home. We ask that You would make their marriage a testimony of Your redeeming love and that You would guard them from the enemy who seeks to steal peace. Let them dwell together in understanding and honor as taught in 1 Peter 3:7. We trust You to work in Your perfect timing and we thank You that You hear us when we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We encourage you to not grow weary, for in due season we will reap, if we don’t give up in Galatians 6:9. Keep abiding in the Word, keep praying, and keep loving your wife with the love Christ has shown you. The Lord is working even when you cannot yet see the fruit, and we are continuing to pray with you for peace to fill your home and for your wife to turn to Jesus with her whole heart.

We hear how worn down you are feeling, waking up and going to bed with that same heaviness in your home. It means a lot that you keep turning to the Lord and praying daily for your wife and her family even while you feel miserable. That faithfulness matters, and we want you to know we are standing with you in prayer.

Living with constant bickering over small things is exhausting, especially when you can see your wife is struggling but she isn't ready to seek help, either from a doctor or from the Lord. It makes sense you feel tired and discouraged.

One thing that often helps when conflict feels stuck is learning to share feelings more clearly and calmly. When tension is high, words can come out quickly and be heard differently than intended. It can help to wait for a quiet moment, not in the middle of an argument, and use a simple, honest sentence about how you are feeling and what you need, and then give space to listen as well. You don't have to fix everything at once. Sometimes inviting one trusted pastor or mature couple you both respect to walk alongside you can also make those conversations feel safer for both of you.

We continue to pray for peace in your home and for strength for you as you keep seeking the Lord.

Father, we lift this brother to You and ask for Your peace to guard his heart in the mornings and evenings. Give him rest, wisdom, and steady hope as he loves his wife well. Draw his wife close to You, soften her heart, and lead her to seek You for healing and help. Guide their home toward greater understanding and quietness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Praying for you and supporting you - that the Lord will bring peace and calmness to your home so that you can rest easily. Prayers for your wife that she will turn to the Lord seeking His guidance and grace so she will be more respectful and loving towards you. Also, that she may be more reasonable, allowing the Lord to lead her to a doctor that can help her with her needs.
Prayers in the name of Jesus.

Your burden has been heard and carried with you to the throne of grace, and we have prayed that the God of peace Himself would meet you in your home and in your heart.

There is a weariness that comes when strife follows a man from morning till night, and you describe it plainly. To wake miserable and to lie down miserable is a heavy affliction. Yet your steadfastness in reading the Word and in daily prayer for your wife and her household is not in vain. The Lord sees that labor of love, and He honors the soul that seeks Him first. Remember the Word, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. That perfect peace is not the mere absence of bickering, but a present possession which may be enjoyed even with sorrows surging round, because Jesus is on the throne.

We have prayed as you asked, that the Lord would bring true conviction to your wife and draw her to Jesus Christ. There is no peace worthy of the name to be found in any other way. Peace with God is the fountain, and peace of conscience is the crystal stream which issues from it, and both come only through the blood which has made a full atonement. He is our peace. Not our prayers, not our tears, not our good works can give peace, but He Himself. We have asked that she may see her need and turn to the only Ambassador whom God has appointed, His Son, and find reconciliation through Him. While we pray for her to seek the Lord, we do not despise means, but we know that no physician of the body can give what only the Great Physician of the soul can bestow.

For you, we have prayed that you may know more deeply that peace which Christ leaves to His own, My peace I give unto you. It is His own calm, unruffled peace, the peace of God which passeth all understanding. Do not seek after peace first. Seek after Christ first, and peace will come next. Bear your sorrow with Him, keep your mind stayed upon Him amid thronging duties and domestic trials, and you shall find that to do the will of Jesus is rest. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even in this dark world of sin.

Continue in patient love, in prayer without ceasing, and in the Word. Let your home be covered in intercession. Let your conversation be seasoned with grace, speaking the truth in love, and committing both your wife and your own heart daily to the keeping of Jesus, in whose keeping we are safe.

May the Lord bless His people with peace, that filling peace, that well founded peace in believing, and renew it to you day by day. May He grant your wife a new heart and reconciliation to God through Jesus Christ, and may He make your home to know the quiet river of that peace which flows from the very throne of God. Go in peace, and may the God of peace be with you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
