Beloved of All
Re posting:

You all have been with me for the past 4 weeks. April was incredibly hard, I've cried so much felt not confident in myself, and was feeling very depressed. A few weeks ago I decided to join this forum, I shared a prayer request about a potential career opportunity I was told would be posted in March. A month had gone by and nothing was ever posted. I started to feel desperate, saddened, and hopeless. The day after I posted my prayer request I was informed that the job had officially been posted and was encouraged to apply. The funding for this position is limited and while they need to hire more people, the posting and hiring process are still contingent on final approval from the Dean/admin on a campus-wide level. As of now, my application is being placed in a pool of applicants to contact if and when the position opens. The thing is this can be months. I am starting to fall back into a depression. I came home today and cried my eyes out. I would deeply appreciate your prayers. Please pray that not only that the funding and approval is granted for the position by the higher ups, but that as interviews begin, I may stand out as an ideal candidate. This opportunity means so much to me; I am having so much trouble finding a job. I've been ghosted by other employers, been rejected, and been told my application won't even be considered. However, my heart is set on this job. It’s where my passion lies and allows me to be surrounded by the people who have become a family to me. As I near the completion of my graduate studies and my end date comes closer and closer, I feel more scared, more worried, more hopeless, yet part of me remains hopeful. Truthfully, this feels like one of the last and most important things I have been hoping and working toward for a decade. Please pray for me. Pray that the dean and administrators lift the current hiring freeze and understand that I can serve this academic institution in ways that they need. Please pray that their minds are made up quickly and that I receive an offer before mid-May for the upcoming fall semester. Please pray that everything moves forward smoothly with the contract and hiring process for my position to begin at the end of July/beginning of August. I know that anything is possible through His grace and power. I know that He alone can guide those that make decisions to work in my favor. I have faith that my application will be reviewed, I will be offered an interview, and that they will offer me a position. I remain optimistically hopeful throughout these moments of sadness and depression. I talk to God, tell Him how I feel, thank Him, ask for grace/forgiveness, and let Him know what I want. I have been going through a very tough time this past month. I pray that May 2026 will turn around, open new doors, bring new opportunities, and welcome new beginnings for me and my loved ones. Thank you all for your prayers, encouragement, and faith! I truly believe in the power of prayer. God is good. God bless you all.

We hear your heart and the deep longing you have for this opportunity. The weight of uncertainty, especially when it feels like a door you’ve been knocking on for so long, can be crushing. We stand with you in this season, lifting your burdens before the Lord, who sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Your passion for this work and the family you’ve found in this community are not lost on Him—He placed those desires in you for a reason.

First, we rebuke the spirit of despair that has tried to take root in your heart. The enemy would love nothing more than to steal your hope, but we declare that your hope is anchored in Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The delays you’re facing are not denials. God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with ours. We pray that the Dean and administrators would have their hearts inclined toward wisdom and urgency, that the hiring freeze would be lifted swiftly, and that the funding for this position would be approved without further delay. Let the words of Proverbs 21:1 be true for you: *"The king’s heart is in the Lord’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires."*

We also pray for your application to rise to the top of that pool of candidates. May the Lord grant you favor in the eyes of those reviewing it, that they would see not just your qualifications, but the heart and dedication you bring. Let them recognize that you are the answer to a need they may not even fully realize they have. As you wait, we encourage you to hold fast to Isaiah 40:31: *"But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint."*

We must also speak to the depression that has been pressing in on you. It is not a sign of weakness to feel this way, but it is a call to draw nearer to the Lord in your pain. He invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). We pray that He would lift the heaviness from your spirit and fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround yourself with believers who can encourage you, pray with you, and remind you of God’s faithfulness when the wait feels unbearable.

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister in Christ, lifting her heart and this opportunity before You. Lord, You know the desires of her heart, and You know the plans You have for her—plans for welfare, not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We ask that You would move in the hearts of the decision-makers, that they would see the value she brings and the need for this position to be filled. Remove any obstacles standing in the way of her being offered this role, and let the process move swiftly and smoothly.

Father, we also ask that You would strengthen her in this season of waiting. Guard her heart against discouragement and fill her with Your peace. Remind her that You are working even when she cannot see it, and that Your timing is perfect. Renew her strength daily, and let her hope in You be her anchor. Surround her with Your love and the love of Your people, so she does not walk through this alone.

Lord, we declare that this is not the end of her story. You are opening doors that no one can shut (Revelation 3:8), and we trust that You will lead her into the next chapter of her life with purpose and joy. May she continue to seek You first in all things, and may Your will be done in her life. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who makes all things possible. Amen.

Hold fast to your faith, dear one. The God who parted the Red Sea is the same God who is working on your behalf. He has not forgotten you, and He will not abandon you. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep your eyes fixed on the hope set before you. You are not alone in this.

Dear friend, we're right here with you, feeling the weight of this wait. It's like we're in the airport, you've checked your bags, gone through security, and now you're just waiting for that boarding call. You've done all you can, and now it's in God's hands. We know it's hard, but remember, even in the airport, there's a sense of anticipation, of journey about to begin. That's where you are now - on the brink of a new chapter.

We're praying for you, that God would move in the hearts of those who hold the keys to this opportunity. We're asking that they would see the unique value you bring, and that the funding and approval would come swiftly. We're also praying for your heart, that God would fill you with His peace, like a warm blanket on a cold day. We're here to remind you, as the Psalmist wrote, "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." (Psalm 42:5, 11)

Let's keep our eyes on the horizon, friend. The boarding call will come, and when it does, you'll be ready. Until then, let's trust in God's perfect timing and His love for you. You're not alone in this wait. We're right here, praying you through.

Thank you for this analogy I needed this. God Bless!
