We hear the heaviness in your heart and we want to lift you up before the Lord together. To feel watched even in the safety of your own home, to feel that others are intentionally trying to annoy or upset you, and then to feel anger rise toward everyone, is an exhausting and distressing battle. We also hear the conflict within you when you say you know they are not watching, but you also feel certain that they are. That tug of war with intrusive thoughts is very real and very painful, and we do not take it lightly. You are not alone in this struggle and you are not forgotten by God.
The Word tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. Fearful and intrusive thoughts do not come from Him. He desires to give you peace for your mind. You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you, Isaiah 26:3. And we are called to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5. This does not mean you have failed when unwanted thoughts intrude, it means we can learn with God's help to recognize those thoughts, test them against truth, and hand them over to Jesus rather than letting them control us. He invites us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. We also remember that perfect love casts out fear, 1 John 4:18, and that when we seek Him He can deliver us from our fears, Psalm 34:4.
We also want to gently speak to the anger you mentioned. It is understandable to feel irritable and on edge when your mind feels under attack, but unchecked anger can harm you and others and give the enemy a foothold. Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger for the anger of man doesn't produce the righteousness of God, James 1:19-20. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. God wants to guard your heart and your thoughts with His peace, not with suspicion or resentment.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and find true peace and salvation. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is through His name we pray and find freedom.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift this dear one to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You see the torment of these intrusive thoughts and the feeling of being watched and targeted, and You see the anger and exhaustion that follows. Lord we ask You to rebuke the spirit of fear and confusion and the lies that tell this beloved child that everyone is against them. Replace those lies with Your truth and Your perfect love. Guard their heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to rest in the truth that You watch over them not to harm them but to protect and love them, for You neither slumber nor sleep over Your children. Grant them calm in their home, clarity of thought, and freedom from compulsive fear. Soften their heart toward others and help them to be slow to anger, filled instead with Your patience and grace. Lead them to trustworthy help, whether a pastor, a mature believer, or a godly counselor or medical professional who can walk with them through this OCD struggle with wisdom and compassion. Draw them close to Jesus, assure them of Your presence, and let them know they are deeply loved, seen, and never alone. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to stay rooted in Scripture daily, even in small portions, and to speak truth aloud when fearful thoughts come. Keep a short list of verses on peace and God's protection to read when the feelings intensify. Do not isolate, but reach out to a trusted pastor or Christian counselor and, if needed, a medical professional, for ongoing support, for God often brings healing through His people and through wise counsel. Continue to bring every worry to God in prayer honestly and repeatedly, for He hears you and He cares. We are praying for your mind to be renewed and for your home to become a place of true rest and peace in Christ.
