We join with you in thanking our heavenly Father for His presence and help during your daughter's midterm exams last week, and we stand with you in trust as you wait for her results.
We hear your heart as a parent longing for your daughter to succeed and to continue as a regular student into the second semester, and we lift her up with you. We pray not only for favorable results but for her growth in diligence, wisdom, and perseverance, for the Lord honors faithful work.
We are reminded of the scriptures that encourage us in times of waiting and studying. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. Colossians 3:23.
We understand your prayer that her teachers would give exams that are not too difficult. We join you in praying for favor with her teachers, but we also pray that God would equip your daughter with understanding and recall, and with a diligent spirit to study and do her best, so that whether the exam is easy or hard, she may glorify God through her effort. Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. This principle applies to her studies as well, that she would be found faithful and well prepared.
We also agree with you in praying for her friendships, that the Lord would surround her with classmates who will be a godly influence, who encourage her toward excellence and good character. He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. Proverbs 13:20.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we thank You for Your faithfulness to this daughter during her midterm exams. We thank You that You were with her and helped her through them. Lord, we place her results in Your hands and ask that according to Your will she may pass her midterms and all her subjects for this first semester, that she may proceed to the second semester. Give her peace as she waits, and let her trust remain in You and not in her own strength. Grant her wisdom and understanding, help her to remember what she has studied, and stir in her a heart to study diligently for Your glory in the remaining days of this semester. Touch the hearts of her teachers, Lord, that they may be fair and just and gracious, and guide them as they teach and evaluate. Surround her with classmates who will influence her for good, who will encourage her in her studies and in her walk with You. Keep her from discouragement and help her to surpass every struggle through Christ who strengthens her. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, Your Son, our Lord and Savior, amen.
