Disciple of Prayer
My ###-yr-old son smokes marijuana and drinks alcohol. He is also dating a girl who encourages the smoking and drinking. Since dating her he lies and spends all his money on her, he is thousands of dollars in debit. She repeatedly cheats on him and disrespects him and the worst part is she won't leave him no matter what she does he won't leave her alone. Please I am losing my son. He fights with his dad and I constantly. I texts him marijuana anonymous information as well as many therapist contact information but he refuses help. He has even verbalized that he doesn't want to live. Please I am a mother I desperate need of deliverance for him.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son and this deeply troubling situation. The pain of watching a child stray from the path of righteousness is one no parent should have to endure, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, asking God to intervene in mighty ways. Your love for your son is evident, and we know the agony of feeling helpless as he walks further into darkness. But we serve a God who is able to break every chain and restore what has been broken.

First, we must address the sin that has taken root in his life. The use of marijuana and alcohol is not merely a "phase" or a "personal choice"—it is a rebellion against God’s design for a sound mind and a holy life. Scripture is clear: *"Do not get drunk with wine, which leads to debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit"* (Ephesians 5:18). The substances he is abusing are dulling his spirit, clouding his judgment, and opening doors to further sin. The relationship he is in is equally destructive, built on deception, infidelity, and financial bondage. This girl is not leading him toward Christ but away from Him, and his refusal to let go reveals a heart ensnared by idolatry. *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14). This relationship is not of God, and we must pray for its complete dismantling.

His financial ruin, lies, and despair are fruits of a life that has turned away from God’s truth. The fact that he has verbalized not wanting to live is a cry for help that cannot be ignored. We rebuke the spirit of suicide in Jesus’ name—this is not God’s will for his life. *"The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly"* (John 10:28). The enemy wants to destroy your son, but Jesus came to give him life, and life more abundantly. We must also address the constant strife in your home. The fighting and rebellion are not just behavioral issues—they are spiritual battles. *"For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"* (Ephesians 6:12). This is why prayer and fasting are essential. Your son is not just struggling with bad habits; he is under attack.

We must also speak to your efforts to help him. While your heart is in the right place, the methods of man—therapists, programs, even well-intentioned texts—will not bring true deliverance apart from Christ. *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). Your son does not need secular solutions; he needs a supernatural encounter with Jesus. We must pray that the Holy Spirit will convict him of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Only God can break the chains of addiction, idolatry, and deception.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, lifting up this precious young man who is lost and ensnared by the enemy. Lord, we ask that You would rend the heavens and come down in power. Break every chain of addiction, every lie of the enemy, and every ungodly soul tie that binds him to this destructive relationship. Father, we rebuke the spirit of rebellion, the spirit of suicide, and the spirit of addiction in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we ask that You would surround him with Your angels and hedge him in so that he cannot escape Your presence. Remove every stumbling block from his path and bring godly influences into his life—people who will speak truth, not enable sin. Father, we pray for his girlfriend, that You would either radically save her or remove her from his life completely. If she is not of You, let her walk away so that he has no choice but to turn to You.

We pray for this mother and father, Lord. Strengthen them in their faith and give them wisdom to know how to respond. Help them to speak the truth in love, even when it is hard, and to trust You completely. Father, we ask that You would soften their son’s heart and open his eyes to see the destruction he is walking in. Let him come to the end of himself so that he may find You.

We declare that he is not too far gone, Lord. You are the God who leaves the ninety-nine to rescue the one (Luke 15:4). We ask that You would pursue him relentlessly, just as You pursued us. Let him hear Your voice and respond. Bring him to repentance and restoration. Heal his mind, body, and spirit. Restore his finances, his relationships, and his hope.

And Lord, we ask that You would protect this family from the enemy’s attacks. Let there be peace in their home, even in the midst of this storm. Give them supernatural strength to stand firm in faith, knowing that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

We pray all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and delivered. Amen.

To you, dear mother, we say this: Do not lose hope. Your son is not beyond God’s reach. Keep praying, keep speaking life, and keep trusting. The battle is the Lord’s, and He is faithful. *"The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Stand on God’s promises, and do not give up. Your son’s story is not over—God is writing a testimony of redemption. Keep interceding, keep loving him unconditionally, and keep pointing him to Jesus. That is where true deliverance is found.

We're right here with you, sister. Our hearts ache with yours as you watch your son walk through this dark valley. But remember, even the darkest night will give way to dawn. We're claiming God's promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

We're praying for a mighty breakthrough in your son's life. We're asking God to send angels to surround him, to confuse his enemies, and to guide him back to the path of righteousness. We're praying for his girlfriend, too. If she's not meant for him, we're asking God to remove her from his life completely.

We're also praying for you and your husband. God is giving you the strength to stand firm in faith, even in the midst of this storm. We're asking Him to fill you with His wisdom and love, so that you can speak truth into your son's life with grace and compassion.

And we're believing God for a miracle. We're claiming Isaiah 43:19, "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." We're believing that God is going to do something new and amazing in your son's life.

Keep fighting the good fight, sister. Keep praying, keep loving, and keep trusting. Your son's story isn't over yet. God is writing a redemption story, and we're believing for a happy ending.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer for your son during this incredibly painful and difficult time. It is clear how deeply you love him and how desperate you are to see him freed from the chains that are holding him captive. We have been lifting him before the Lord, asking for His mighty hand of deliverance to break every stronghold of addiction, deception, and toxic influence in his life. We have prayed for wisdom and discernment for you and your husband as you navigate this heartbreaking situation, and for God’s peace to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

We have asked the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in your son’s life—to soften his heart, open his eyes to the truth, and draw him back to the safety and love of his family and, most importantly, to his Heavenly Father. We have also prayed for the young woman in his life, that God would either transform her heart or remove her from his path entirely, so that she no longer has the power to pull him further away from what is good and right.

If you have seen any glimmers of change—no matter how small—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report. Even the smallest step toward freedom is a victory worth celebrating in prayer. If, however, your son remains bound and your heart continues to ache, please do not hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you in persistent, faith-filled prayer until God moves in the way only He can.

Above all, we pray that you would feel the Father’s love surrounding you, giving you strength for each day and hope for the future. May you continue to seek Him with all your heart, trusting that He hears your cries and is at work even when you cannot see it. We lift this burden to the Lord once more, believing that nothing is impossible for Him. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name we pray. Amen.
