Prayer for my ###

Please pray for my wife, I began to pray against the wildfire smoke and praying for protection her home and seeking the Lord and my wife immediately became hostile. This wildfire event is making my faith stronger, and I warned her that if she doesn’t seek the Lord during this time, and continues to curse and disrespect me, then it won’t be good for her faith. Please pray for conviction for her.

We hear your deep concern for your wife and your home during this wildfire crisis, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking the Lord’s protection and wisdom in this trial. It is encouraging to see your faith growing stronger through this difficult time, and we join you in crying out to God for His mercy and intervention.

First, we must address the conflict that has arisen between you and your wife. Scripture is clear that as the head of the household, you are called to love your wife as Christ loved the church, sacrificially, patiently, and with gentleness (Ephesians 5:25). While it is right to warn her of spiritual danger, the manner in which we speak truth matters deeply. Proverbs 15:1 tells us, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Your warning to her, though well-intentioned, may have come across as condemning rather than loving. We must always speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15), trusting that the Holy Spirit is the one who convicts hearts, not us.

We also want to gently remind you that your wife’s response is not your responsibility to control. Your role is to pray for her, love her, and model Christlike behavior, even when she is hostile. 1 Peter 3:1-2 says, "In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won over by the behavior of their wives without a word, seeing your pure behavior in fear." Though this passage is directed to wives, the principle applies to husbands as well, our conduct can be a powerful testimony.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother and his wife. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over their home and community from the wildfire. Shield them from harm, both physically and spiritually. We pray for Your peace to fill their home, even in the midst of this trial.

Father, we ask for conviction in this wife’s heart. Soften her spirit to receive Your truth and turn away from hostility. Help her to see the importance of seeking You, especially in times of crisis. Lord, we know that You are the only one who can change hearts, and we trust You to draw her closer to You.

We also pray for this husband, Lord. Give him wisdom in how he speaks to his wife. Fill him with patience, kindness, and self-control. Help him to lead his family with humility and grace, reflecting the love of Christ in all he does.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of division or strife in their marriage. We declare unity, love, and mutual respect in Jesus’ name. May this trial not tear them apart but instead draw them closer to You and to each other.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. We trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their faith and help them to lean on You completely.

In the precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue praying for your wife, not just for her conviction, but for her well-being and salvation if she does not yet know the Lord. Pray for opportunities to serve her and show her Christ’s love in action. Remember, "The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient, in gentleness correcting those who oppose him" (2 Timothy 2:24-25). Trust that God is at work, even when you don’t see immediate results. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and let your faith be a testimony to your wife and those around you.

We're sorry for the weight you're both carrying right now, wildfire smoke and the fear it brings can rattle even the calmest of us, and tension in a marriage when stress is high can cut deep. We're standing with you in prayer, not just for conviction in your wife's heart, but for a genuine, peaceful turning toward God for both of you.

We're asking the Holy Spirit to work quietly in her, removing the hostility and replacing it with a tenderness that only He can bring. At the same time, we pray that the Spirit gives you steady patience and grace, so that your prayers for her become a safe place, not a pressure point. Sometimes the loudest background noise (like a fire threat) makes it harder to hear the still, small voice.

So let's pray together now:

Father, we lift up this husband and wife before You. Please protect their home and their health from the wildfire smoke. More than that, we ask You to speak directly to her heart, convict her of anything that's hardening it, and draw her gently back to Yourself. Break through any walls of anger or fear, and let her find refuge in Your presence. Give this husband Your wisdom and self-control; help him to love her the way You love us, with patience that endures. Restore peace in their marriage, and use this crisis to deepen their trust in You alone. In Jesus' name, Amen.

It is a sore trial when the very act of seeking the Lord’s protection stirs up hostility in one’s own household. But consider, I beseech you, that the spirit in which you delivered your warning may have been more like a brandished sword than a healing balm. True conviction is the gentle work of the Holy Ghost, not the fruit of human threats. Beware of that repentance which is but the vomit of a dog, how can it be acceptable with God? That which is born of the flesh is flesh; it is the Spirit alone who gives repentance unto life. And a repentance that springs from fear of temporal calamity, without a sight of Christ, is a shallow thing. Does it endure? Does it lead her to look upon Him whom she has pierced? That is the test.

I charge you, then, to put away all sharpness and pride. Your faith is strengthened, you say; watch therefore that it be not puffed up, but exercised in lowly, agonizing prayer. The Apostle Paul besought the brethren to strive together with him in prayer, prayer with force, with energy, with humble boldness, prayer which, like a deep, hidden torrent, cuts a channel through a rock. So wrestle for your wife, not against her. Remember Christ’s intercession for Peter: before the temptation came, He said, “I have prayed for thee.” His prayer was prevenient and prevalent. How full of love it was! And have you prayed for her thus, with tears and with a heart broken by her peril? Or have you, with unbent knees, risen to speak words that strike?

There is a prayer fit for every soul in every strait: “Lord, help me!” This prayer is handy, and it is needful for you both. Cry it for yourself, that you may be kept from a harsh and self-righteous spirit. Cry it for her, that God would truly convict her, not merely of her temper toward you, but of her sin against Him. Only the love of Christ, who gave Himself for His Church, can melt a hard heart. Look to Jesus, and let her see in you something of that tender, patient love. Then, perhaps, by the silent influence of a godly life, she will be won, even without your word.

Join me, then, in this petition: O Lord, revive Thy work in the midst of this trial! Cause Thy face to shine upon this home. For the sake of Him who ever liveth to intercede, grant true repentance and a lasting peace. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You perceive the smoke of the wildfire as a call to faith, and that is well, for God sometimes uses such earthly signs to rouse the soul. But take heed: there is another smoke, the turbid and blinding smoke of human strife, which arises from harsh words and a haughty spirit. When you warned your wife that it would not be good for her faith if she continued to curse and disrespect you, you may have added to the worldly smoke rather than dispelled it. The soul’s eye, as I have often said, must dwell in clear air to be quick-sighted and healthy. But what clear air is there in a house where the husband prophesies evil upon his wife’s faith? This is not the way of love; it is the way of Peter before his fall, who lifted himself up above the rest and said, “Though all men shall be offended, yet will I not be offended.” Such confidence from much love and zeal, yes, but mingled with human pride, and it led to a bitter denial. We are not to compel conviction by threats, but to win it by the honor we pay.

Scripture commands the husband to render to the wife her due honor, and the wife to the husband. What is this honor? It is not to stand as her accuser, but to be her protector, her yokefellow in love, as Paul commended those women who labored with him. If she sees your faith strengthened by trial, let it be shown not in words of warning but in deeds of patience and kindness. The unbelieving spouse is often sanctified by the conduct of the believing one, without a word. You pray for conviction for her, this is a holy request, and I join my prayer to yours. But let your prayer be offered in humility, not from a lofty place. Remember the smoke of Sinai, which betokened the fearfulness of God, not the wrath of man. The Lord will send the tempest to rouse the careless, but we must not become the tempest ourselves. Minister to your wife as to a saint, for every believer is a saint by faith, and many laboring in the world are saints both in faith and life. Go now, and let your home be an angel’s table, free of the smoke of vain contention, where only the pure air of meekness and prayer may raise your souls together to the heavenly protection.
