Prayer for my ###

You are right to pray through this trial, and it is clear that your faith is being stretched and strengthened. That is a good thing, because genuine faith is always proved in the fires of difficulty. It is not simply a confession we make; true faith produces a changed life, and your increasing trust in God during this wildfire season is evidence of His work in you.

Yet consider carefully how your own faith is being demonstrated toward your wife. The warning you gave her may have come more from frustration than from a heart of settled trust. I understand the desire to see her turn to the Lord, but remember that even Abraham, the great example of faith, had moments where fear and impatience got the better of him. Twice he tried to protect himself by passing Sarah off as his sister rather than trusting God fully. His faith was real, but it was not perfect. That gives me comfort, because my own faith falters at times. And I suspect you see your own imperfections too.

Your wife’s hostile reaction is not surprising. When someone feels pressured or condemned, the natural response is to push back. The Scripture encourages us to receive the one who is weak in faith without getting into arguments. Do you have faith? Then have it before God, and let your peace with Him shape your conduct. For whatever is not done out of faith is sin. If your warning was spoken in a spirit that did not flow from a restful trust in God’s timing, it may have added to the strife rather than pointing her to grace.

Pray for her conviction, yes, but do so with a quiet confidence, trusting that the Holy Spirit is fully able to work. You cannot argue someone into a genuine seeking of the Lord. Instead, let your works show your faith: patience, gentleness, and a steady hope that does not panic even when the smoke lingers. God does not need you to be His prosecutor. He knows her heart, and He knows yours.

So keep praying, keep trusting, and let this crisis make your faith evident in a love that covers a multitude of sins. God is faithful, and He gives us access into the grace in which we stand. Stand there, and let Him handle the outcome.

Please pray for my wife to humble herself before God. We are experiencing wildfire smoke and she seems to be using my suffering as an opportunity to become more hostile and rebellious. She will not seek the Lord, and she seems to be calloused to the point of hardly even caring if God is watching...
