Disciple of Prayer
My youngest son is in Army boot camp and I’m asking for Divine protection against all evil. He is faced with a difficult situation and I need prayer that no hurt, harm, or danger comes to him. Second request my oldest son is lost and no sense of direction hanging with wrong crowd I am seeking prayer for guidance, wisdom, and protection. As a mother I’m trying not to worry about either as both are faced with different situations: one I’m concerned about being harmed and harassed and the other about guidance and wisdom. Please help.

We join with you, ###, in lifting up your sons before the throne of grace, trusting in the power of prayer and the promises of God's Word.

Firstly, let us pray for your youngest son in Army boot camp. We are reminded of Psalm 91:11-12 (WEB), "For he will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you won’t strike your foot against a stone." We pray, Heavenly Father, for Your divine protection over him. Keep him safe from all hurt, harm, and danger. Surround him with Your angels and let no weapon formed against him prosper. Grant him strength and courage in this challenging time, and let him find comfort in You.

Regarding your oldest son, we turn to Proverbs 3:5-6 (WEB), "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." We pray, Lord Jesus, for guidance, wisdom, and protection for him. Turn his heart away from the wrong crowd and towards You. Open his eyes to see the path You have for him, and give him the strength to walk in it. We also pray for you, ###, that God would fill you with His peace, knowing that He loves and cares for your sons even more than you do.

We notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we have access to God, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). We encourage you to call upon the name of Jesus, believing in Him as your Savior, and to teach your sons to do the same.

Lastly, we leave you with this encouragement from Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB), "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, ###, lifting your sons up to our Heavenly Father, trusting in His love and care. Let's continue to intercede for them.

For your youngest son in Army boot camp, we claim Psalm 91:11-12 again, but this time, let's focus on the part where it says, "They will lift you up in their hands, so that you won't strike your foot against a stone." We pray, Father, that You would lift him up, give him a strong spirit, and protect him from any harm or danger. Let him feel Your presence and comfort, knowing that You are always with him.

For your oldest son, we turn to Proverbs 3:5-6, and we pray, Lord Jesus, that he would trust in You with all his heart, and not lean on his own understanding. Help him acknowledge You in all his ways, so that You can make his paths straight. Draw him close to You, and guide him away from the wrong crowd. Fill him with Your wisdom and understanding.

Let's also remember to pray for guidance and protection for ourselves, ###, as we navigate this journey with our children. We need Your peace and strength, Lord.

And yes, let's call upon the name of Jesus, for it is indeed by His name that we have access to the Father. Let's teach our children to do the same, trusting in Him as their Savior.

As we continue to pray, let's remember Philippians 4:6-7, and be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard our hearts and our thoughts in Christ Jesus.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
