Prayer for my son.

Disciple of Prayer
Requesting pray for my son who received news that he needs and MRI due to swelling behind his eye. Praying it's is nothing, praying for ease on his anxiety. Pray for good health.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your son in earnest prayer. Father God, we ask that You would go before him as he undergoes this MRI, calming his fears and anxieties with Your perfect peace. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Lord, let this peace that surpasses all understanding wash over him, replacing fear with trust in Your sovereign care.

We pray for clarity and wisdom for the medical team, that You would guide their hands and their interpretations. May the results reveal nothing of concern, or if there is a battle ahead, may You equip him with strength, courage, and unwavering faith. Jeremiah 30:17 reminds us, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says the Lord. We claim this promise over him, believing in Your power to restore and heal.

Father, we also ask that You would draw him closer to You during this time. If he has not yet placed his trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, we pray that this moment of uncertainty would lead him to seek You with all his heart. For it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." May he come to know the hope and security that can only be found in a personal relationship with You.

We rebuke any spirit of fear in Jesus’ name, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Let Your power and love be his strength in this season. Surround him with Your angels, Lord, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. We trust You with his health, his future, and his soul.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We’re holding your son and you close in prayer today. It’s so natural for a parent’s heart to worry when a child faces a test that feels heavy and uncertain. The good thing is, right now you’re not carrying this alone. We’re joining our prayers with yours, and many others are too.

We often find that when people are facing a medical scare, one of the biggest sources of comfort is simply knowing that others are praying for them by name, and even more, having someone actually pray aloud with them. It reminds us that God is present and we are truly in this together. If your son is open to it, maybe before the MRI you could simply sit with him for a quiet moment and pray, placing his health and the doctors’ hands in God’s keeping. Even if all you do is say, “Lord, we trust you,” you’re giving him a powerful gift of peace. And letting him know how many people are speaking his name in prayer today may ease some of that internal weight.

We’re praying the swelling is nothing, that the MRI brings good news, and that his anxiety would loosen its grip. More than anything, we’re praying he senses he is not alone.

Lord Jesus, we lift this son to you now. Quiet his mind and settle his heart, and give his mom the strength she needs to be a steady presence. Guide the hands of those tending to him, and let the results bring relief, not fear. No matter what the test shows, help them both feel your nearness. We ask all this in your name, amen.

Is the young man safe? The cry of your heart leaps from the page, and it echoes the trembling enquiry of a father long ago, for whom the tidings came too late. Yet you ask in time, and the throne of grace stands open. That very anxiety which now shakes you, if it drives you to the mercy seat, becomes a sacred goad. Have you not found it so, that the weight unfits you to meet the trial, but thrusts you upon the only One who can? He spared not His own Son; will He then withhold from your son what is needful? You must not think so.

The eye, that tender lamp of the body, is now the seat of your fears. But remember, it is also the similitude of preciousness. Pray then, and pray boldly, Keep him as the apple of the eye, with the guardianship of Your Holy Spirit, with that swift sensitiveness that shuts out harm. Let the physical eye be guarded indeed, but let the spiritual eye be made single. The light of the body is the eye, yes, and the eye of faith is the soul’s true vision. The carnal eye sees only swelling and shadow, but the single eye looks through the threat and beholds the Healer.

Cast yourself upon the Father who ran to meet the prodigal. It was not with icy eyes that He looked upon the returning one; compassion leaped forth, and a kiss spoke forgiveness and belonging. Does your heart protest that you or your son are unworthy? The Lamb’s sacrifice puts away sin; the Father’s great love, in giving that Son, made Him forget the sins of His people. Trust! Trust! That word is the grandest in all our language. Trust Jesus only, and lay this burden down where He was laid in the tomb, and left it empty. Will you not let the upward glancing of an eye in silent prayer be your peace when none but God is near?

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

When we hear of a swelling, our thoughts rightly turn to the care of the body, and for this we ought to give thanks that God has provided means of examination. Just as the Apostle directed Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach and his frequent infirmities, so we now have physicians to peer into what is hidden, testing whether the ground beneath us is firm or hollow. For the foot does not lie to the eye, nor the eye to the foot; the instrument reports the truth as it appears, and we should not disdain such service from the members. Let the anxiety that now grips your son's soul find its outlet not in terror but in that physician of the soul, prayer.

Yet take care that we do not fall into the snare of supposing that health alone is a sign of God's love. For consider how often wealth, that bulky and swelling thing, becomes a hindrance to the narrow way that leads to the Kingdom. Does not the Lord Himself sometimes take away from us what we yearn for, sending the mistress into banishment, that He might free us from a worse slavery? So too with bodily ease: He allows these trials, not that we should despair, but that through the fear of suffering we might abstain from the commission of spiritual crime and cling more tightly to Him who is the true Physician. It is part of a soul that practices virtue to meet the news of an MRI not with a demand for an easy answer, but with the words, "Believe ye that I am able to do this?"

Do not merely call Him Son of David, as one who can heal bodily Israel, but confess Him as Very God, the Son who speaks nothing without the Father and whose love is proved by our hearing His commandments. For this is the sure proof: if we love Him, we keep His words, even when they lead us into the narrow place of uncertainty. Does the report of this swelling make the soul shudder? This is not a thing to despise, for that shuddering convinces us that we have need of mercy; and teachers, like your son, who perhaps carries many burdens of study or duty, stand more in need of that mercy than others.

Therefore, let the prayer ascend, not only that the swelling be nothing, but that whatever is found, your son may enter into the truth of his own conscience. For He requires faith of those who are healed, not as mere show, but that they may be led up to what is higher, to know that the Lord cares for us, and that even this anxiety can become the iron implement that cuts the straight path of virtue more easily than a state of ease. Pray not only for good health, but for the blessedness of him who, having received the revelation from the Father, can say in the face of any news, "Thou art the Son of God."

I hear the deep love and concern you carry for your son, and I join you in asking God to bring him through this with a clean report and a calm heart. When a child faces something uncertain, a parent’s thoughts can spiral, but you are not alone in that anxious place. The Scriptures give us a picture of a father who understood what it meant to hold his son with a trembling grip. Think of Abraham, who was asked to offer up Isaac, his only son, the one he loved. That command tore at him, yet in the end, his eyes were opened to see a ram provided in the thicket. The Lord who saw Abraham’s faith is the same God who sees you now, and He knows the weight you are carrying for your son.

The Father’s own heart is revealed most clearly in what He did with His only begotten Son. He did not spare Jesus, but gave Him up for us all. If God has gone that far to make you His own adopted child, will He not also walk with you through this trial? He is not distant from a parent’s love. The voice from heaven at Jesus’ baptism still rings true: “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” The One who spoke that over His Son now speaks peace over you and your son, because you are hidden in Christ.

Remember that Jesus is the Son of God with power over every sickness and fear. He healed many in His earthly ministry, sometimes instantly, sometimes through a process, but always completely in His way. I do not fully understand why some healings come in a moment and others more gradually, but I do know that every glimmer of restoration is divine. Even the natural processes of the body are signed by His hand, because He made them. So whether the swelling behind your son’s eye proves to be nothing serious or something that needs time to mend, you can trust the Healer’s care.

Take comfort in this: you can cry out, “Abba, Father,” because the Spirit of His Son has been sent into your heart. That same Spirit can calm your son’s anxiety as he waits for the MRI. We pray that the scan shows no cause for alarm, that his health springs back fully, and that in the waiting, Jesus Himself keeps his mind in perfect peace. May you and your son both see evidence that the Lord looks on your affliction and hears your cry, just as He did for Leah when she named her sons. God is not deaf to your plea; He is the God who sees and hears.

Hold fast to the Son, because in Him you hold the Father too. No diagnosis can snatch you or your boy from that love. I stand with you, asking for good health, for an end to this worry, and for a testimony of God’s kindness to emerge from this season.
