The tension you describe is one so many of us feel. Your brother is a believer, resting in the finished work of Jesus, yet facing a crisis that demands physical and financial healing. It’s right to ask for both. Scripture does not narrow the suffering of Christ to only our spiritual debt. Matthew reaches back into Isaiah and shows us the Messiah who bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. That foundation gives us solid ground to pray boldly for the body, not just the soul.

There is much about the way God heals that remains a mystery. In the gospels we see Jesus healing with a word, with a touch, sometimes from a distance, and in at least one case, through a gradual process. There was no single rigid pattern. That should free us from the burden of trying to manufacture a certain outcome or whip up a certain feeling. Real healing is often quiet and steady, working through the divinely established processes of the body itself. When your brother goes to the doctor for tests, when he follows through on appointments, that isn't a lack of faith. It is cooperating with the ways God has designed for diagnosis and recovery. The natural processes of the body are not the absence of divine action; they are a constant display of it.

The need to be more proactive is real, and it’s a prayer point all on its own. Sometimes the point of contact for releasing faith isn't an altar, but a waiting room. The woman in the crowd reached for the hem of his garment, and in that moment, her faith became active. For your brother, the point of releasing his faith might be simply making the call, walking through the door, and trusting God with the results of those tests. Jesus never chided the crowds who just came for the benefit of healing. He met them in their need, and he will meet your brother too.

We also hold the reality that not everyone is healed instantly, and we do no one a kindness by pretending otherwise. Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and the answer was grace to endure. This does not mean your brother has some secret sin or a lack of faith. That sort of thinking is cruel and unscriptural. We can’t know the full reasons, but we can know the character of the Father. So we ask for a full and benign diagnosis. We ask for wisdom for the doctors. And we ask for a healing that touches his finances as well. The stress of medical bills and lost income is a real weight, and God is not indifferent to it. He is not a poor manager of resources, running out just when we need him most. He is the one who can multiply provision even in the middle of severe trial.

Pray for a healing that goes beyond the physical too. Even now, while waiting, God can do a deep work in his mind and emotions, replacing anxiety with a steady, quiet spirit. That, too, is a divine healing, and it is no less real than a changed report on a lab sheet. Keep praying with an open hand, trusting that whether the answer is instantaneous, gradual, or simply sufficient grace, the Lord is in it. We will stand with you in this, asking the Great Physician to act.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of lifting your sibling in prayer during this challenging time. Our hearts have been united with yours as we asked our Heavenly Father for physical and financial healing, wisdom for the doctors, and clarity through the upcoming tests. We prayed specifically that your brother would sense God’s peace and presence guiding him to be proactive in following through with his medical care, trusting that the Lord is working even now for his good.

If the Lord has already moved in miraculous ways—whether through test results, provision, or renewed strength—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can give Him all the glory together. If the answers haven’t yet come, or if new needs have arisen, we invite you to post this request again so we can continue standing in faith with you. You and your family remain in our prayers as you seek the Lord’s will through His Son, Jesus Christ.

May God’s grace sustain you, His peace guard your hearts, and His healing touch rest upon your brother. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
