Prayer for my relationship

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray for my relationship, my boyfriend is ignoring me and doesn’t make and initiation to do things. I am very lonely because God is moving things for me to be with someone and something is acting as a wall, please pray it is removed. In Jesus name amen

We hear your heartache and loneliness, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, seeking the Lord’s intervention in this situation. It is clear you desire companionship and believe God is moving to bring you together with someone who will cherish and pursue you as a godly spouse should. Yet, we must also gently examine this relationship in light of Scripture, for the Lord’s ways are higher than ours, and His timing is perfect.

First, we want to address the term "boyfriend" in your request. Scripture calls us to purity and intentionality in our relationships. If this man is not your husband, we must ask: Is this relationship honoring to God? Are you both committed to pursuing marriage with godly purpose, or is this a casual connection that lacks the covenant commitment the Lord intends for His children? The Bible warns us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" If he is not a believer or is not actively seeking the Lord, this could very well be the "wall" you are sensing. Even if he is a believer, if he is not leading spiritually or demonstrating the love of Christ in his actions (or lack thereof), this is not the kind of relationship the Lord desires for you.

We also must ask: Are you and this man living in a way that honors God’s design for intimacy? The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage alone. Hebrews 13:4 says, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." If this relationship includes physical intimacy outside of marriage, this is sin, and it creates a barrier between you and the Lord. Sin, whether in action or in the heart, can hinder our prayers and block the blessings God wants to pour out. We encourage you to repent and seek the Lord’s forgiveness, trusting that He is faithful to cleanse and restore you (1 John 1:9).

Now, let us pray together for you and this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is feeling lonely and confused in her relationship. Lord, You see her longing for companionship, and we know that You place the solitary in families (Psalm 68:6). We ask that You would remove any walls, whether they be sin, fear, disobedience, or the enemy’s schemes, that are blocking the path You have for her. If this relationship is not of You, Lord, we ask that You would bring it to an end in a way that honors You and protects her heart. If this man is not the one You have for her, give her the strength to walk away and trust in Your perfect timing.

Father, if this man is indeed the one You have chosen for her, we pray that You would soften his heart. Stir in him a desire to lead, to pursue her with godly love, and to honor You in this relationship. Teach him what it means to love as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25), and give him the courage to step into the role You have for him. If he is unwilling or unable to do so, Lord, we ask that You would close this door completely so she is not left in limbo, waiting for something that will never come to fruition.

We also pray for this sister’s heart. Loneliness can be so painful, Lord, but we know that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Fill her with Your peace and remind her that she is never alone, You are her ever-present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). Help her to find her worth and identity in You alone, not in the attention or affection of a man. Teach her to wait on You, trusting that Your plans for her are good (Jeremiah 29:11).

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin in her life, whether in this relationship or elsewhere, we ask that You would bring it to light. Give her the humility to repent and the grace to walk in obedience. Cleanse her heart and renew her spirit so that she may walk in the fullness of Your blessings.

Above all, Father, we pray that she would seek You first in all things. May she find her satisfaction in You alone, knowing that You are enough. If marriage is Your will for her, we trust that You will bring the right man into her life at the right time. Until then, help her to bloom where she is planted, serving You with joy and trusting in Your faithfulness.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can come to You. It is through His sacrifice that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His blood that we are made clean. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

Dear sister, we want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. The Lord sees your tears and hears your cries. Psalm 30:5 reminds us, "Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning." Even if this season feels long, God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Do not lose heart. Instead, use this time to draw closer to Him. Seek His face, study His Word, and surround yourself with godly community. The right man will not leave you feeling lonely or uncertain; he will be a man after God’s own heart, who loves you as Christ loves the church.

If this man is not pursuing you, it may be a sign that he is not the one God has for you. A godly man will not leave you in emotional limbo. He will lead, initiate, and cherish you. Proverbs 18:22 says, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh." Notice that it is the man who finds a wife, this implies action, pursuit, and intentionality. If he is not demonstrating these qualities, it may be time to surrender this relationship to the Lord and trust Him to bring the right man into your life.

Lastly, we want to gently challenge you to examine your own heart. Are you seeking this relationship more than you are seeking the Lord? Are you looking to a man to fill a void that only God can fill? Matthew 6:33 reminds us, "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." When we seek God first, everything else falls into place according to His perfect will.

We are standing with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord will move mightily on your behalf. May He give you wisdom, peace, and clarity as you navigate this season. You are deeply loved by your Heavenly Father, and He has a beautiful plan for your life. Trust in Him.

We hear the ache in your words, being ignored by someone you care about can cut deep, and the loneliness that follows is real. It’s okay to admit that hurts.

When we feel like something is blocking what we want, it’s easy to focus all our energy on getting that wall taken down. But sometimes what feels like a wall is actually God’s way of slowing things down, giving us space to get our footing before we take another step. He cares about the whole shape of your life, not just whether this one relationship moves forward.

For right now, the most immediate thing we’d encourage you to do is simply bring the weight of your loneliness to God and ask him to meet you in it, before you try to figure out what comes next with your boyfriend. Let yourself grieve the silence, and then ask for ears to hear what God might be saying in the quiet. Is there a trusted older Christian woman in your life you could talk with? Sometimes another set of eyes helps us see patterns we can’t spot on our own.

We don’t need to force a spiritual battle around every hardship; sometimes God uses ordinary sorrows to draw us nearer to him. We’re praying that he’ll give you clarity, steady your heart, and lead you into whatever relationships, romantic or otherwise, truly honor him and bring you peace.

Please pray with us:

Lord Jesus, you see this daughter’s loneliness. Hold her close. Quiet the noise of fear and longing, and give her a deep sense of your presence. Grant her wisdom to know when to wait and when to step forward, and surround her with people who will love her well. We trust you with her future and with her heart. Amen.

Loneliness is a heavy cross to bear, and many a child of God has felt its keen edge, yet none so deeply as our Savior in Gethsemane and upon the tree. He was left alone, abandoned by those who should have stood with Him, but He said, “I am not alone, because the Father is with me.” Take this truth into the core of your affliction; if you are Christ’s, the Father’s presence is yours even when every human prop fails. The silence of your boyfriend is painful, but the silence of God is not silence at all, He speaks in the stillness, teaching your soul to rest in Him.

You speak of a wall between you and the life you think God is moving you toward. I pray you will pause and examine that wall. In Jerusalem of old, the broad wall was not a hindrance to be torn down, but the city’s defense and glory, a wall erected by God’s own hand to mark safety. If this wall is of divine construction, it is no enemy to be prayed against, but a mercy to be thanked for. Is it possible that in your loneliness you have mistaken God’s restraint for a demonic obstacle? The woman who is espoused to Christ must not rush to break down what He has set up to keep her from a union not according to His will. A man who ignores you and makes no initiation may be revealing a heart far from the self-sacrificing love of a husband, for marriage is a relationship of Christ and the Church: the husband is to cherish, pursue, and give himself for his bride. If his neglect continues, could it be that the “wall” is not a curse to be removed, but a shield of electing love preserving you from a sorrow deeper than loneliness?

The curse of sin was removed from us in a moment when Christ became a curse for us, and that removal is entire and irreversible. In the same way, when God removes a barrier, He does so fully and for our good. But His timing and His choices are perfect. I pray for you now, not that any wall be instantly demolished according to your wish, but that the Spirit would grant you discernment to know whether it is a wall of protection or a wall of your own fears. I pray that your loneliness would drive you to the Bridegroom who never fails, never ignores, never grows cold, even Jesus, the Friend who sticks closer than a brother. He has taken up your case, assumed every responsibility for your soul, and will never forsake His own. Turn your ache into that channel. Wait upon the Lord, and if it is His will to give you an earthly husband, He will make the path plain in His time, without your forcing. Until then, rest inside the broad wall of His covenant love, for “he who believes shall not be put to shame.” Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The loneliness you feel is a heavy burden, and your desire for companionship is natural. But you speak as though God is moving you toward a particular man, yet this man ignores you and makes no effort. A wall, you say, stands between you. Consider, then, whether that wall is not an obstacle to be removed, but a mercy from God. For God does not lead His children into confusion, nor does He bless unions that dishonor His design. You call him a boyfriend, but such a bond without the covenant of marriage is not what God commands. If you are living together or giving yourselves to one another outside of holy matrimony, no amount of prayer will make that right. The wall may be the conviction of the Spirit, calling you to purity.

You must first seek the Lord with a broken and contrite heart, counting others better than yourself, and wait upon Him with all lowliness. Abraham believed against hope when his body and Sarah's womb were dead, not by scheming for what he wanted, but by trusting God to quicken the dead and call things that were not as though they were. Faith does not demand that God remove every barrier; faith submits to God's will and timing. If this man is not your husband, then turn your eyes from him and give your loneliness to Christ, who purged your sins. Even little disregard for God's commands becomes a spot on the soul. I will not pray for the blessing of a relationship that stands outside His ordinance, but I will pray that you find your all in Him, that He grant you a spirit meek and trembling at His words, and that if it be His will, He lead you into a holy marriage where both count the other better than themselves. Let the wall remain until you are on God's side of it, in purity and obedience.

I hear the ache in your words, and I want to speak honestly from what God’s Word shows us about times like this. Loneliness is heavy, and when someone you care for pulls back, it’s easy to feel forgotten. But I want to gently ask you to consider what the true center is in all of this.

You mentioned something acting as a wall. In your mind, that wall is what’s keeping you from the relationship you think God is moving you toward. But sometimes God allows a wall to stand not because an enemy is blocking His will, but because He wants to redirect our gaze. The deepest need isn’t the removal of that obstacle; it’s making sure the vertical axis of your life, your relationship with Him, is in the right place.

When our connection with the Lord is intimate, loving, and alive, every other relationship finds its proper balance. If that central bond is out of alignment, we spend all our energy trying to fix the horizontal ones, and more things just seem to crumble. It’s like trying to build a house while ignoring the foundation. God never intended a human partner to carry the weight of your soul’s security. He placed that longing for love there so you would first find it in Him, your Father, who calls you His own child through Jesus Christ.

A ritualistic, legal approach won’t satisfy. God doesn’t want you merely trying harder to get what you want. He wants a living fellowship where you trust His love enough to surrender every outcome. If you’re in a relationship right now where you’re being ignored and left without initiation, I would ask you to prayerfully examine whether this is the kind of bond that reflects the serving, self-giving love that Scripture holds out. A godly relationship enhances your walk with the Lord, it doesn’t distract you into constant anxiety.

The fruits of peace, patience, and joy come naturally when you’re abiding in Christ. If those are missing, that isn’t a sign to push harder against a wall. It’s an invitation to draw closer to the One who promises to satisfy your soul. I’m not saying your loneliness doesn’t matter; it deeply does. But the answer isn’t found in forcing another person to fill it. It’s found in letting the Holy Spirit fill you so fully that you can navigate every human relationship with wisdom and rest.

So I do pray with you, not simply that an obstacle would vanish, but that your heart would first be anchored in the unshakeable love of the Father. I pray you would know so deeply that you are seen, known, and held that loneliness loses its grip. And I pray God gives you clarity: if this relationship is not drawing you closer to Jesus, He may be protecting you from something that would ultimately harm your soul. Let the vertical axis be set right, and watch how He brings alignment to everything else.

We want to thank you for the trust you placed in us to stand with you in prayer for your relationship. It’s been on our hearts these past days as we’ve lifted up your loneliness and the wall you feel is blocking what God is moving toward. We’ve prayed for clarity in your boyfriend’s heart—for the Holy Spirit to soften any hardness, to open his eyes to the love that’s already there, and to stir in him the same desire to initiate that you long to see. We’ve also asked the Lord to guard your heart from discouragement, reminding you daily that His timing is perfect and His plans for you are good.

If the Lord has already answered this prayer—if you’ve seen a shift, a conversation, a moment of reconnection—we would love to hear about it so we can rejoice with you. But if the silence continues and the wall still feels tall, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We’re here to keep praying, to keep believing with you, and to trust that God is at work even when we can’t see it.

May He draw near to you in this season, filling the lonely places with His peace and reminding you that you are deeply loved—not just by us, but by the One who gave everything to call you His own. We continue to pray in Jesus’ name, believing that every barrier will be removed according to His will.
