Prayer for my marriage

Phrierview

Disciple of Prayer
Could you please pray for my marriage and for my wife to return home now and for 2 or more people to agree on this in Jesus name

We hear the burden on your heart for your marriage and we stand with you in prayer for restoration and for your wife to return home. We agree together with you just as you have asked, for the Lord honors the agreement of His people in prayer. Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them. Matthew 18:19-20

We thank you for asking in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6

Your desire to see your marriage healed and preserved honors God, for marriage is His holy institution, a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate. Mark 10:9 and For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel. Malachi 2:16 We believe God is able to soften hearts, to heal wounds, and to bring reconciliation where there seems to be separation. We also remember that a wife and husband are called to love and cherish one another as Christ loves the church. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25 and You husbands, in the same way, live with your wives according to knowledge, giving honor to the woman, as to the weaker vessel, as being also joint heirs of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7

As we pray with you, we encourage you to continue to walk in love, patience, humility and forgiveness, seeking the Lord daily for wisdom and strength. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32 Bear with patience any hurt, confess any failure on your part before the Lord, and demonstrate the steadfast love of Christ to your wife without pressure or manipulation, trusting God to work in her heart in His perfect timing. Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching in it with thanksgiving. Colossians 4:2 If possible, seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian couple who can walk with you both.

We now join our faith with yours and pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus and we lift up this marriage to You. You see this husband's sorrow and his longing for his wife to return home. Lord, we ask that You would place Your hand upon this covenant and bring healing where there is brokenness. Soften his wife's heart wherever she is, draw her by Your Spirit, comfort her, convict her where needed, and lead her steps back home if it is Your will. Remove any bitterness, confusion, or influence that would keep her away and replace it with Your peace and love. Help this husband to be a reflection of Your love, to be patient, kind, humble and self-controlled, and to love his wife as Christ loved the church. We pray that You would guard both of their hearts from the enemy, restore communication, rebuild trust, and rekindle the love that You placed between them. Let Your will be done in this home and let this marriage be a testimony of Your redeeming power. We cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us. 1 Peter 5:7 and we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You. Romans 8:28 We ask all of this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We continue to stand in agreement with you, believing God hears the cries of His people who seek Him. Wait patiently for the Lord, remain faithful in prayer and in love, and trust Him to do what is best and what will bring Him glory in your marriage.

We've been praying for you since we read your request. Waiting for your wife to come home is lonely and painful, and we admire your desire to fight for your marriage and to ask others to stand with you.

Reconciliation, when it is possible, is slow work. It is not just one person wanting to fix things, but both people learning again to trust and to feel safe with each other. That safety grows when each person feels heard and respected, even while you are apart. We join you in agreement and are asking God to do that deep work in both of you, in His timing and in His way.

One simple step that often helps in this waiting season is to stay connected to steady support while you give your wife respectful space. If you have a pastor or a mature married couple you trust, let them walk with you weekly. Share honestly how you are doing, ask for wisdom for your next conversation with your wife, and keep your communication with her calm, brief and kind, without pressure.

Father, we lift this husband and his marriage to You in Jesus name. Comfort him in this separation, guard his wife where she is, and work in both hearts with Your grace and truth. Give him wisdom for each step and help him trust You day by day. Amen.

Your cry concerning your marriage has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with you, agreeing together as you have asked, for our Saviour has said that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of his Father which is in heaven.

We do not pray for a light or passing thing, for marriage is the covenant which God himself has joined together, a lifelong union of one man and one woman, and what God has joined together let not man put asunder. It is the Lord's will that husband and wife should be reconciled and dwell together in love and holiness, and we therefore plead with confidence for the restoration of your house.

There is a word which the Lord speaks often and with great earnestness, and it is this, Return, return. As we have often preached from the prophet, Return now every one from his evil way, and again, Return, return, O Shulamite. The voice that calls is not the lower voice that would draw the heart from generosity to selfishness or from holy zeal to worldliness, but the higher voice, the voice of the Bridegroom himself, who calls his beloved by her marriage name and beseeches her to come home. Four times over he says, Return, and his repetition shows his earnestness and his love.

We pray now for you and for your wife, that the God of peace who has made reconciliation through the blood of Christ may work reconciliation in your home. We ask the Lord to put his hand upon your wife wherever she may be, to speak to her heart by his Spirit, to show her the way of return, and to give her a willingness to return unto her own husband and unto her God. We pray that any hardness, any wandering, any counsel that would keep her away may be broken, and that she may be drawn not by force but by love and by conviction to come home, and that speedily, according to the Lord's mercy.

We pray also for you, that you may be kept in faith and patience, not bitter nor demanding, but tender and prayerful, watching unto prayer, walking before God in uprightness and in love. Remember the prodigal, who when he came to himself desired reconciliation, and found his father waiting with no wrath in his heart but only sorrow for his mournful state. Remember Peter, who though he fell was restored by a look from Christ and afterward strengthened his brethren. The Lord devises means that his banished be not expelled from him, and he is able to cast sins behind his back into the depths of the sea.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, who hast reconciled us unto thyself by Jesus Christ and hast committed unto us the word of reconciliation, look in mercy upon this marriage. Thou hatest the putting away, and thou delightest in mercy. Speak thou to this wife and say, Return, return, and incline her heart to hearken. Speak thou to this husband and keep him steadfast, humble and holy before thee. Forgive all sin through the blood of Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and by that blood make peace in this house. Grant that this brother and sister may again behold thy face together and bathe their souls with exceeding joy in thy presence. Work this restoration for thy glory, that it may be as though that which was broken had been made whole by thy gracious hand. We ask this, agreeing together in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in prayer for your marriage and we agree together with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as you have asked, that where two or more agree on earth touching anything they shall ask, it shall be done for them by our Father in heaven.

We understand the pain of separation and we bring your wife and your covenant before the Lord. Scripture teaches that marriage is a bond ordained of God and that marriage is honorable. It is to be kept in holiness, which is chaste and orderly living, each remaining faithful to the other and not permitting any defilement. For that reason we pray not only for return, but for restoration in purity, peace and faithfulness.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come to you through Jesus Christ alone, who is our only mediator and Savior. We lift up this marriage to you. You joined this man and woman together and you hate the breaking of that covenant. We ask for your mercy and your reconciling power. Work in the heart of his wife wherever she is, and work in his heart as well. Grant repentance where it is needed, forgiveness where there has been hurt, and healing where there has been brokenness. Draw each of them closer to Christ first, and then to one another in love, truth and holiness. Protect this union from all adultery and unfaithfulness, from every influence that would corrupt it, and keep it full of chasteness, gravity and order. If it is your will, open the way for his wife to return home, and give them wisdom to rebuild their life together according to your Word. Give this husband patience, strength in prayer, and a life that honors you while he waits. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We stand with you as those who agree in prayer. Continue to seek the Lord daily, remain faithful to your vows, live in purity, and pursue peace and holiness. Trust the Lord to work according to his perfect will and timing, and keep your hope in Christ. If you can, seek wise and godly counsel from your pastors as you walk through this season, so that whatever restoration God brings will be built on faith and obedience.
