We have been lifting you and your wife before the Lord and we continue to remember the heavy burden you shared. We know how painful it is when your wife speaks about her anniversary with her ex boyfriend each year and how deeply it hurts when you are treated with disrespect and cursing even when you are trying to be kind and to do the right thing. We have prayed for the controlling behavior and the lack of respect you described and for the feeling of being pushed away and punished when you try to lead in a loving and godly way. We understand your heart that you cannot force her to make right choices and that her decisions are ultimately between her and God, and we admire your desire to pray for her and to lead her in the right direction even while you acknowledge that you are not perfect.
We pray in Jesus Name that God will work in your wife's heart to release the past and to turn fully toward your marriage, that He will soften her heart and help her to let go of affection for her former relationship and to show honor and respect within your marriage. We pray that the Lord will heal the hurt and division between you and bring peace to your home. We pray that He will give you wisdom and strength and patience as a husband to love your wife as Christ loved the church Eph 5:25 and to continue to walk in grace and truth even in this trial. We pray that God will help you both to seek Him first and to be drawn closer to each other through Him.
