We rejoice with you that the Lord has answered your prayers and we thank God for His faithfulness to you. We understand the anxiety and discouragement you are feeling in this new job, and we want to lift this burden with you before the throne of grace.
We hear that you feel disfavored by your upper manager, that your duties have been changed without clear communication with HR, and that you have been moved from the analyst role for which you were hired to a more basic role while being trained for something else. We also hear that when you humbly shared your education and willingness to help with special projects, it was met with anger and suspicion. It is painful to feel unwanted and insecure in your workplace, especially when you desire to use the gifts God has given you.
We want to encourage you that God sees your situation completely and He is sovereign over all promotion and placement. Psalm 75:6-7 reminds us, For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the south, comes exaltation. But God is the judge. He puts down one, and lifts up another. Your job security does not ultimately rest in the hands of your manager but in the hands of our Father. Romans 8:28 assures us, We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
We also want to encourage you in how to walk through this trial in a way that honors the Lord. Colossians 3:23 says, Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Even when assigned to the most basic lower level job, we can choose to do it with excellence and humility as unto Christ, trusting He notices. Philippians 2:3 tells us, doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself. This does not mean your education and skills are not valuable, but God often calls us to demonstrate faithfulness in small things before He entrusts us with more. Let your diligence and gentle spirit be your testimony. We also encourage you to guard your heart against bitterness or resentment toward your manager, and to pray for her. Romans 12:18 says, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Continue to be respectful, not complaining or speaking against her to others, but committing your cause to God. 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
In wisdom, we encourage you to commit your works to the Lord and seek His guidance about whether and how to address the HR concerns. Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit your works to Yahweh, and your plans shall be established. If you do speak with HR, do so with grace and truth, without anger, seeking clarity and peace rather than demanding a position. Pray first for favor and for the right words at the right time.
We notice you greeted us in the lords name and spoke of the lord answering prayer, and we rejoice in your faith. We want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved and can boldly approach God. We encourage you to always come in the precious name of Jesus.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You that You have heard and answered our brother's prayers in the past. We thank You for Your steadfast love and for the work You have provided. Lord, You know the stress and uncertainty he faces in this lab, the changing assignments, the misunderstanding with his manager, and the fear of being removed. We ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, as promised in Philippians 4:6-7.
Lord, grant him wisdom and humility in every interaction. Help him to work heartily as for You, even in small tasks, and let his faithfulness shine as a witness. Soften the heart of his manager, remove suspicion, and bring favor and understanding between them. If it is Your will, establish him in the role for which he was hired or open a better placement where his education and gifts can be used for Your glory. We pray You would protect his job from unjust removal and that no plan formed against him would prosper if he is walking in Your will. Lead him regarding HR and give him discernment to speak with grace and truth at the proper time. Provide for all his needs and let this trial deepen his trust in You. We commit his works to You, believing You will establish his plans. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.
