Prayer for mercy

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I implore God’s mercy for the sake of my family, for the sake of my children, have mercy on us. I have fallen into the hands of a cruel unbeliever who knows no mercy. I beg You, Jesus i beg You!

We hear your desperate cry for mercy and we stand with you before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, lifting up you and your precious children and your whole household.

Our hearts are moved by your plea, and we want you to know that the Lord does hear the cries of those who call upon Him in truth. His mercy is not distant or reluctant. Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us It is of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness. And Psalm 103:8 reminds us Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. You have done right to run to Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other name by which we have access to the Father, and He is near to the brokenhearted.

We are grieved to hear that you have fallen into the hands of a cruel person who shows no mercy. The Lord sees this injustice and He sees your suffering and the vulnerability of your children. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1. He is not blind to cruelty, and He is your defender. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 promises But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, pleading Your mercy upon this dear soul and upon this family and these children. Lord, have mercy, have mercy according to Your abundant loving kindness. Spread Your wings of protection over these little ones and over their parent who is crying out to You. Be their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust. Psalm 91:2. Deliver them from the hand of the cruel one, frustrate every evil intent, and make a way of escape where there seems to be no way. We ask You to restrain the hand of the oppressor and to bring justice and peace into this situation. Uphold this family with Your righteous right hand, for You have said Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. Pour out Your comfort and strength for each day, provide for every need, and let Your mercy and deliverance be clearly seen so that all will know it is Your hand. We also pray for the one who is acting cruelly, that You would convict his heart and bring him to repentance, or else remove his power to harm. We trust Your perfect justice and Your perfect mercy together. In Jesus' name we ask this, amen.

We encourage you to continue to call upon Jesus day and night, and to stay in His Word where His mercy is revealed anew each morning. Please do not remain isolated in this trial. Reach out to a trusted pastor or mature believers in a Bible believing church for counsel, prayer, and practical help, and if you or your children are in danger of harm or abuse, please seek help from godly authorities and those who can provide safe protection. The Lord often extends His mercy through His people. Keep crying out to Him, for He has promised that all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved and He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him through Jesus. We are continuing to pray for God's mercy, deliverance, and covering over you and your children.

We heard the urgency in your prayer, pleading for mercy for yourself and your children while feeling trapped with someone cruel. That is an exhausting and frightening place to be, and we are grateful you reached out and brought this honestly before Jesus.

We want you to know God hears cries for mercy. He sees you and your children, He cares about your safety and dignity, and He is near even when the person closest to you shows none.

When someone in the home is cruel and without mercy, it is important not to carry this alone. If you are in immediate danger, please reach out right away to local emergency services or to someone safe nearby who can stay with you. As a next step, we encourage you to confide in one trusted, safe person who can walk with you in person, a pastor, a counselor, or a local support service for families experiencing harm, so you do not have to discern next steps by yourself. They can help you think through safety for you and your children and what support is available where you live.

We are praying for you and will continue to.

Jesus, we lift this family to You and ask for Your mercy to surround them. Protect them, give wisdom for each decision, provide safe help and community close by, and bring peace and healing to these children and their parent. Lead them step by step as they seek You. In Your name, Amen.

Your cry for mercy has ascended to Him who delights in mercy, and blessed be His name, His compassions fail not.

You feel as one fallen into cruel hands, and the heavens seem as brass, and you fear that His mercy is clean gone forever. But this is an arrow shot by the enemy, and it must not stand. We have an unchanging God, an everlasting covenant, a sure mercy, and these are solid things to rest upon. When the Spirit draws you to the mercy seat, such fear must vanish, for if thou art at the mercy seat, God is there too. God loves the mercy seat better than thou dost. He dwelleth between the cherubim, thou only goest there sometimes, but that is His abiding place where He always sits. Go thou then to that mercy seat, and thou canst not be destroyed. Thy ruin is impossible whilst thou dost cry, Let us pray.

Know this, that all God's mercy to a sinner is gratis. He never sells, He always gives. He asks no payment. He acts not from anything in us, but because He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. His mercy is tender in its great provisions, and it comes to you now, not tardily. The Gospel asks nothing of us but what it gives to us. And the Great Messenger of the Covenant, the Great Interpreter between God and man, can tell you of God's mercy not in words only, but with a sweet sense of mercy shed abroad in your heart. He can make you feel the way of salvation as well as know it.

Deliverance from a cruel captivity must be worked by the hand and outstretched arm of Jehovah alone. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. When the lamb was slain, He brought them forth, and He makes their deliverance effectual. So it is with you. He is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. His rod of mercy is ever in His hands outstretched, His sword of justice is held in its sheath by that hand that presses it back and cries, Sleep, O sword, sleep, for I will have mercy upon sinners. He is slow to anger because He is infinitely good.

Therefore we bring you and your children before the throne of grace, and we plead the ransom which God Himself has found. For God has said, I have found a ransom, and the clock of mercy strikes in heaven the hour of deliverance according to His eternal purpose. When the gates of man are shut and cruel archers worry you, the gates of Mercy are not shut.

We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, would cover you and your little ones with His tender mercy, that He would deliver you from the hand of the cruel one, that He would turn your captivity and make you to know that salvation is of free grace only, and that He would keep you close to the mercy seat where fellowship with Jesus is a well of refreshment. Cast your grief there, and leave it with Him who hears and who will move His arm to work deliverance for thee.
