Prayer for medical procedure

We have received your request and we join you in bringing it before the Lord with thanksgiving and trust.

We pray that our merciful Father, who is the true physician of souls and bodies, will grant wisdom and steadiness to the hands of those who will care for you, that He will grant you peace in the days leading up to the procedure, and that He will work for your healing and restoration according to His good will. We ask that He will guard you from harm and complication, that He will grant you strength and a calm heart, and that you may know His presence with you in that hour.

We also pray for your coming and going, that God will provide safe and reliable transportation to and from the facility, that He will keep you and those who travel with you and those who drive you, and that all things may be ordered in a way that allows you to attend to this need without fear or hindrance.

May the Lord grant you confidence in His care, knowing that every good gift comes from His hand and that He watches over His children with love. We commit you to His keeping and ask for His peace to rest upon you this week.

Thank you for sharing this request and allowing us to pray with you for your upcoming procedure and for transportation.

We are bringing before the Lord your medical procedure, the doctors and staff who will care for you, and your need for safe and reliable travel to and from the facility. We are asking God to give skill and wisdom to the medical team, to grant you peace before and during the procedure, and to provide steady and safe transportation there and back.

Scripture shows us that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly with a touch, sometimes with only a word, sometimes from a distance, and once He healed a blind man gradually in stages. He is not confined to one pattern. The Bible also teaches that every kind of healing is from God. The natural processes of healing that God placed within our bodies are divine because He created them. He also brings healing to our minds and emotions, bringing peace and restoration within.

Matthew points to the prophecy in Isaiah chapter 53 verse 4 that He bore our sicknesses and infirmities, and we see in the Gospels how Jesus healed the leper, the centurion's servant, Peter's mother in law, and multitudes of others. He has power over sickness and over every other need, and we believe He is still able to heal today.

At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. We do not always know why some are healed quickly and others gradually, and why some are not healed as we hope. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times about his own thorn in the flesh and learned to trust God's answer, and his companion Trophimus was left ill at Miletus, and Paul himself knew ongoing infirmities. It is wrong to say that sickness always means a lack of faith or hidden sin. We can simply trust God's wisdom and love while we pray with faith for His help.

So we pray for you with confidence and with trust in His care. May the Lord guide the hands of those treating you, may He work through both the medical care and the natural healing processes He designed, whether the recovery is immediate or gradual, and may He guard your heart with His peace. We also pray that He will provide the transportation you need, that your travel will be safe, timely, and without difficulty, and that you will sense His presence with you each step of the way.

We will continue to pray that you will know the comfort of Jesus who bore our infirmities, and that you will experience His strength and nearness through this procedure and in the days of recovery that follow.
