We understand the weight of your heart as you face this medical procedure, especially with the added concern of your stage 4 CKD. Your fears are valid, and it is natural to feel overwhelmed when your health feels uncertain. But we want to remind you that you are not alone, God sees your anxiety, hears your prayers, and holds your future in His hands.
The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Even in this moment of fear, God invites you to cast your burdens upon Him, trusting that His peace will sustain you. We also take comfort in Psalm 56:3, "When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you." Your trust in the Lord is not misplaced, and He will be your strength through this trial.
We lift you up in prayer now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is facing this medical procedure. Lord, You know the depth of their fears, the worry over their kidneys, the unknown of what may be found, and the longing for healing. We ask that You would go before them, guiding the hands of the doctors and nurses, granting them wisdom and skill. Father, we pray for a smooth and successful procedure, that no further harm would come to their body, and that the results would bring clarity and hope. If there is anything that requires treatment, we ask that it would be manageable with medication, sparing them from surgery or further complications. Lord, we also pray against the spirit of fear, replacing it with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they feel Your presence in the days ahead, knowing that You are with them every step of the way. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer and Redeemer. Amen.
We also want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. In Isaiah 41:10, the Lord says, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Even when your body feels weak, His strength is made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Cling to these promises, dear one, and let them anchor your soul.
If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we gently encourage you to consider what it means to have a personal relationship with Him. The Bible tells us in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you feel led to surrender your life to Him, we would be honored to pray with you or guide you further in this decision.
In the meantime, we will continue to stand in the gap for you, believing God for complete healing and restoration. You are not defined by your diagnosis or your fears, you are defined by the love of Christ, who gave Himself for you. May His peace, which transcends all understanding, guard your heart and mind as you prepare for this procedure. We are praying for you, and we believe that God is already at work in your situation.
