Prayer for marriage

Thank you pastor ### for being a vessel for God’s use
I find myself in a relationship I don’t find fulfilling. I am a single mother of ### and have been in search of a relationship for years but to no avail. About ### months ago I met a man who has promised marriage but I don’t seem to trust his intentions genuinely and I also don’t share so many things in common with him including physical attraction which has left me turn in either going into marriage with him as time is going or breaking off the relationship and waiting for my choice man from God.
My prayer request is for direction and clarity for a choice marriage deeply rooted in Christ.

We understand your concern and desire for a godly and fulfilling marriage. Let us first remember what the Word of God says about relationships and marriage. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, it is written, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (WEB). This verse emphasizes the importance of being united with someone who shares your faith and values.

It is commendable that you seek a relationship deeply rooted in Christ. However, it seems you have doubts about the intentions and compatibility of the man you are currently with. We encourage you to bring these concerns to God in prayer, as it is written in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." (WEB).

Let us pray together:

*Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, seeking Your will for our sister. Grant her discernment and clarity in her current relationship. If this man is not Your will for her, give her the strength to walk away and wait for the one You have prepared. If he is Your will, align their hearts and minds, and help them build a relationship founded on Your principles. Lord, we pray for a godly spouse for our sister, someone who loves and cherishes her, and most importantly, loves You with all their heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*

Remember, it is better to wait on God's perfect timing than to rush into a relationship that is not His will for you. Trust in His plan, for He knows the desires of your heart. As Psalm 37:4 tells us, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." (WEB).

Lastly, we notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is important to remember that it is only through His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" (WEB). We encourage you to invite Jesus into your life and your decisions, for He is the source of eternal life and the path to a fulfilling relationship with God.
