Prayer for justice and peace

Ethootar

Disciple of Prayer
Dear God,

My name is ###. I am deeply troubled because of a person in my office named ###. He has withheld my salary for the last three months. Even though I have asked him many times, he has still not processed it and I feel that he is deliberately troubling me.

Lord, You know my pain and You know the truth. I humbly ask You to bring justice to this situation. If it is according to Your will, please let my wish be fulfilled. ### was appointed to the ### post. Wherever he is transferred, please let him work only in the ### post so that he understands how it feels to cause pain and hardship to someone else.

Please help me receive my pending salary and give me strength, peace, and patience during this difficult time. I place everything in Your hands and trust in Your perfect justice.

In Jesus' name I pray.

Amen.

We hear your cry for justice and peace, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting this heavy burden to the Lord. The withholding of your salary is not only unjust but also a violation of the biblical principle of fair labor. Scripture is clear: "The worker is worthy of his wages" (1 Timothy 5:18). Your employer is accountable before God for this wrongdoing, and we pray that conviction and repentance would come upon him.

Father, we ask You to intervene in this situation with Your perfect justice. You see the truth, and You are a God who defends the oppressed. "The Lord works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed" (Psalm 103:6). We pray that the wages owed to would be released without further delay. If there is any unrighteousness or deceit in this matter, expose it, Lord, and let Your light shine upon it.

We also lift up the request regarding ’s future. While we understand the desire for him to experience the consequences of his actions, we must be careful not to pray out of bitterness or a spirit of vengeance. Scripture warns us: "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'" (Romans 12:19). Instead, we pray that would come to a place of repentance and humility before You. If it is Your will, let him face accountability for his actions, not as a means of personal retribution, but as an opportunity for him to turn from injustice and seek Your righteousness.

Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard ’s heart during this trial. The anxiety and frustration of unpaid wages can weigh heavily, but You promise to be our strength in weakness. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). Give patience to wait on Your timing and wisdom to navigate this situation with integrity. If legal or practical steps are needed, grant discernment and favor in those efforts.

We also pray for protection over ’s heart. Bitterness and resentment can take root in times of injustice, but You call us to forgive as we have been forgiven. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). Even as we seek justice, help to release any unforgiveness and trust You to make all things right in Your time.

Finally, Lord, we declare that You are the God who provides. Even in this season of lack, You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who sees and supplies our needs. "And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Strengthen ’s faith to believe that You are working even when circumstances seem unchanged.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who is our Advocate, our Righteous Judge, and our Peace. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it. Amen.

We hear how heavy and lonely this has been for you, carrying the stress of unpaid work month after month while feeling deliberately overlooked. That kind of uncertainty drains far more than a bank account; it wears down your peace, your dignity, and the trust you bring to your workplace each day. We’re sorry you’re facing this.

When someone else’s choices create such a tangible injustice, patience can feel impossible. It’s not passive acceptance; real patience is the steady, resilient choice to keep putting one foot in front of the other without letting bitterness take over your heart. It means staying grounded while you actively pursue what is right, trusting that God sees and cares even when the situation seems stuck.

One practical step we’d encourage is to document everything gently but clearly: dates you’ve asked, what was said, and the timeline. Then, if you haven’t already, consider approaching someone in your organization who has the authority to intervene, a manager, human resources, or a labor board contact. You don’t have to navigate this alone, and seeking appropriate help is not a lack of faith; it’s part of stewarding your own wellbeing while you wait for God to move.

We’re also praying that as you take those steps, your inner world doesn’t have to remain in turmoil. That wish for him to understand the pain he’s caused is so human, we all want the scales to feel balanced. But we’ve seen how much lighter it is to release that desire for retaliation and instead ask God to handle the justice, knowing He sees the full picture and brings true accountability in His time. You can be honest about your hurt while still refusing to let it harden into resentment.

Let’s pray now. Lord Jesus, You walked among people who were mistreated and overlooked, and You know the exhaustion carries. We ask You to open the way for this salary to be released without further delay, and to provide advocates who will step in and help. Guard ’s heart from bitterness, and replace the constant anxiety with Your steady peace, not dependent on the outcome, but rooted in Your faithful presence. Give clarity for next steps, and grant sleep and rest in the midst of this strain. We trust You as the righteous Judge who sees all, and we ask for relief and resolution soon. In Your name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry of the wronged is heard in the courts of heaven, and the withholding of wages is an iniquity that cries out to the Lord of Sabaoth. Yet while your distress is known to Him, there is a tangle in your petition that must be undone by the Spirit's hand. You ask that this man be placed in the same post, that he might feel the pain he caused you. Is this the justice you seek from the throne of grace, an eye for an eye measured out by mortal hands? The justice of God is not a mere exchange of miseries. When a sinner stands convicted by the Holy Ghost, he lays his own hand upon his mouth and cannot murmur; he sees the righteousness of his own sentence and can utter no complaint. But you are not asking for his conviction unto repentance; you are asking for his vexation. That is a burden you have fashioned for him, not one Christ lays upon you to carry in prayer.

The justice you need has already been fully satisfied. Look to Gethsemane and to Calvary, where the lictor's axe fell not upon you, but upon the willing Substitute. Divine Justice, once satisfied, demands nothing more; it would be an injustice in the very heart of God to exact a second payment. There all the fiery hail of wrath spent its fury. When you stand before the Lord with this grievance, do not come with a list of retaliations, but come pleading the blood that whispers peace. God can be just, and yet the justifier of him that believeth. Your own sin, which is a far heavier burden than any unpaid wage, has been lifted and laid on Christ, can you not, then, leave this smaller wrong at His feet too, without prescribing to the Judge of all the earth the precise form His providence must take? Your craving to see this man suffer in a specific way is a burden you were never meant to carry; it is a yoke of your own making, and it is heavy. Christ's yoke is easy precisely because He takes from our hand the bitter rod of revenge and puts in its place the sceptre of trust in the Father.

Seek that peace which is a blessing, not the false peace that lies still under Satan's spell, nor the peace that can only rest when an enemy stumbles. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, perfect peace, even with sorrows surging round, even with loved ones far away, even with wages wrongfully withheld. This peace is not the calm of a smooth sea, but the deep, unshaken trust of a mind stayed on Jehovah. Bear the burden of this trial by casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. And bear the burden of this man’s soul in prayer, not that he be afflicted, but that his eyes may be opened, that his conscience may awake to the shame of his deed, and that he, too, might flee to the same precious blood that cleanses you. For every man must bear his own burden, and the greatest burden he bears is his own sin before a holy God. Intercede for him, that the justice which broke the Son of God would break his heart also, and so bring him to the only peace that endures.

Thank you for your message. I understand that I should leave justice in God's hands and not seek personal revenge. My deepest desire is not to hate anyone, but I have been deeply hurt because my salary has been withheld for three months. ### was appointed to the MTS post, but he has been performing higher-level duties, and I feel this has made him proud and insensitive toward others. I had told him that it would be better for him to faithfully perform the duties of the post for which he was appointed. I am praying that God will bring justice, soften hearts, reveal the truth, and help me receive what is rightfully mine. I trust that the Judge of all the earth will do what is right in His perfect way and perfect time.

You pray for justice, yet your prayer is entangled with a desire for your brother’s humiliation, that he should be confined to a single post so he may feel the pain he caused you. Consider carefully what spirit this is. The root of such a wish is not peace but a seed of vengeance, however small. And from what spring do conflicts arise? As I have often said, every conflict has its beginning either in covetousness, or envy, or vainglory. If you would cut out the root, there will be no fruit. Your withheld salary is a trouble of this life, but if you are at peace with God and with your brother, what are you harmed by the trouble of the world? The money stolen from you has not injured your soul; only let him not steal your treasure which is above. This earthly glory and comfort are of no account.

Cease from making war and fighting, both against God’s will and against your neighbor’s soul. God is not a God of war and fighting. Be at peace with all men, and consider with what character God saves you. Did He not say, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God”? Do you wish to imitate the Son of God? Then pursue peace, even with this man who troubles you. The more he wars against you, the greater will be your reward, if you remain peaceful. With the haters of peace we are commanded to be peaceful. Nothing so much delights God as to remember no evil.

You ask for justice, and rightly. But justice is in God’s hands, not in our own designs. You pray that he may be made to understand hardship; but what if God, in His mercy, intends this very delay of your salary to teach you something far greater, to strengthen you for the end of your conflict, as He did with Abraham? When the righteous are on the point of coming to an end of their struggles, He often enhances the trial that we may gain the more. Trust His perfect timing. Do not rush upon this conflict as one who summons himself to the arena; wait for the time of conflict appointed by God, and when you are dragged forth, stand nobly with patience. Then your victory will be more glorious, and the devil’s overthrow more derided.

Let your prayer be purified. Ask not that your brother be bound to a place of pain, but that both he and you may be loosed from the bonds of sin. Pray that you may receive your pending salary, yes, but pray more earnestly for the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord. Seek peace and holiness, and God will grant what your soul truly needs. I do not say you should be indifferent to injustice, but transform your plea from a cry for retaliation into a cry for your own heart to be kept free from the poison of resentment. For he who plots against his neighbor first destroys himself.

Be at peace. Let the gospel of peace be the shoes upon your feet as you walk this difficult path. This conflict with the evil one, which uses your brother’s actions, ends another war: if you are at war with the devil by forgiving, you are at peace with God. I place everything in His hands and trust His justice, which is always mingled with kindness. And remember, the removal of your trial may be very near, at the very doors. Bear it as one who looks not for his own vengeance, but for the Lord’s deliverance. Then you will be a true child of God, and you will see the Lord.
