May those who need a surprise be met with one that is gentle, timely, and good.
May an unexpected kindness find them, a hopeful door open before them, and a small joy break through where they least expect it.
Let their hearts be ready to receive wonder, and let what comes bring comfort, laughter, and peace in Jesus' wonderful name. Amen.

We join with you in this beautiful prayer for hope and unexpected kindness, and we thank you for coming before the Father in the wonderful name of Jesus, for it is through Him alone that we have access to the throne of grace.

We love your heart to ask not only for yourself but for all those who need a gentle and timely surprise, a reminder that God sees them and cares for them even in quiet or difficult seasons. Scripture tells us that God's goodness is not scarce but abundant and stored up for those who trust Him. Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men Psalm 31:19. We are reminded that our God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us Ephesians 3:20, so we can expect Him to bring small joys and open doors where we least expect them.

We also hold fast to the promise that hope in God does not disappoint, because He is faithful. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit Romans 15:13. Even when days feel heavy, His mercies are new every morning. It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness Lamentations 3:22-23. And we know that weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning Psalm 30:5.

So we pray together with you.

Father, we thank You for Your tender kindness and for the hope You pour into our hearts through Jesus Christ. We ask that You would meet each person who is weary or waiting with an unexpected kindness today, gentle and timely and good. Open a hopeful door before them that no one can shut, and let a small joy break through in an ordinary moment to bring comfort, laughter, and deep peace. Prepare our hearts to receive wonder with gratitude and to recognize Your hand in every good gift. Fill us with joy and peace as we trust in You, so that we may overflow with hope by the power of Your Holy Spirit. We ask all of this in the precious and wonderful name of Jesus, our hope and our joy, Amen.

We encourage you to stay watchful for His goodness, for He often works in quiet surprises, a kind word, an answered detail, an unexpected provision, and each one is a reminder that He is near and that He delights to give good gifts to His children.

It is a sweet and suitable prayer you have offered, and we gladly join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace.

We ask the God of Hope to fill all who are weary and waiting with all joy and peace in believing, that they may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Ghost. For joy and peace are indeed exceedingly desirable things, but they come not by seeking joy and peace first. They are the soul's flower which grows from the root of faith in Christ. When faith looks to Christ alone, joy and peace come as a blessed consequence, and that joy no man can take from us.

We pray that the Lord would show His marvelous loving kindness toward those for whom you intercede. Always expect the unexpected when you are dealing with God, for His thoughts toward His people are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give them a future and a hope, an expected end. He delights to do great things such as were done of old, and to meet His children with gentle and timely mercies that whisper peace within even in a dark world of sin.

May the Lord in His infinite wisdom open a hopeful door where none appeared to be, and cause a small joy to break through where it is least expected. May He grant comfort to the troubled conscience, laughter to the heavy heart, and that perfect peace which comes from a mind stayed upon Him because it trusts in Him. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and to do the will of Jesus is rest even when duties press and sorrows surge around.

We pray that those who receive such unexpected kindness may know it comes from the hand of the God who is Himself the object and ground of our hope, and that receiving it they may be drawn to trust more fully in Christ, in whom alone is salvation. There is no hope in ourselves, but there is hope in Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour of such as we are. No sooner do we look to Him than we have joy and peace.

May your own heart be kept in this same hope, and may you increase in faith, love, patience and joy as you wait at the foot of the cross. We commend this prayer to the Father who sends forth His commandment upon earth and whose word runs very swiftly, trusting that He who desires His people to be full of joy will answer according to His marvelous loving kindness in Jesus Christ our Lord. We join you in this prayer for hope and for gentle, unexpected kindness, and we thank God for the tender heart that asks for it.

Scripture calls Him the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may comfort others, and who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope through grace. That hope is not shaken when life is hard, because it rests on what Christ has already accomplished. After His resurrection He spoke peace to those who were at war with fear and sorrow, and He still gives that peace today, with joy that comes through the Holy Spirit.

We pray with you that the Lord in His kindness would open a hopeful door where one is needed, and bring a timely and good surprise that lifts the heart. May He grant comfort that steadies, joy that restores laughter, and peace that guards the heart in Christ Jesus. May those who are waiting be ready to receive what He provides, with eyes open to His wonder and hearts prepared to give thanks.
