We join you in lifting up your precious parents and your own heart before our heavenly Father together in Jesus' name, for we know how heavy this burden feels when you love your parents deeply yet cannot be physically present to care for them.
We are moved by your love and honor for your father and mother, and God sees this honor. He promises honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12. Even while work keeps you away, your prayers, your calls, and your care from a distance are a sweet offering to the Lord, and we encourage you to continue to show that honor by staying connected, helping arrange godly help and medical care for them where you can, and entrusting them daily to the Lord who never leaves them.
We bring their bodies before the Lord who is our Healer. We believe He is still the God who heals. Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don't forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. I am Yahweh who heals you Exodus 15:26. But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed Isaiah 53:5. We ask for His mercy upon your father's knees, his gall bladder stone, his digestion, his severe back pain and difficulty moving, and upon your mother's severe arthritis and allergies. We pray But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17 would be their testimony, whether through miraculous touch or through wisdom for doctors and treatment, according to His perfect will.
We also lift up your stress and loneliness. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. Jesus invites you Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28. We pray that His peace which surpasses all understanding would guard your heart. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Do not fear, for He says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.
You shared that you are still unmarried and desire marriage, yet you carry trauma from severe breakups. We pray for your healing as well, for He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We want to encourage you biblically in this desire. Marriage is a holy and beautiful covenant ordained by God as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh Genesis 2:24. Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22. We pray that God will lead you to a godly spouse, not simply a partner or companion, but a husband or wife who loves Jesus Christ with all their heart. We encourage you to view this season of courtship as preparation for marriage to another Christian believer, for Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14. If there was any sexual intimacy outside of marriage in those past relationships, scripture calls that fornication and we gently urge repentance and a commitment to purity going forward, for God calls us to honor Him with our bodies and to pursue marriage in holiness. We also encourage forgiveness toward those who hurt you, not to excuse what happened, but to release your heart from bitterness so the Lord can fully restore you and prepare you for the marriage He desires for you.
We noticed your request spoke of God but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is by His blood we are forgiven and by His name we boldly bring these prayers to the throne of grace.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear child of Yours and their beloved father and mother. Lord, lay Your healing hand upon this father, touch his knees, his joints, dissolve or remove this gall stone, heal his digestion, relieve his severe back pain, restore his mobility. Touch this mother, ease her arthritic pain, calm her allergies, strengthen her body. Lord, You know they are aged and weary, have mercy and restore health to them as only You can. We ask for Your divine intervention and a miraculous touch if it be Your will, and give wisdom to any physicians who care for them. Pour out Your peace upon this home, let Your presence fill it with a peaceful atmosphere that drives out anxiety and fear. Comfort this only child who is carrying stress and guilt from being far away, remind them that You are near to their parents when they cannot be, that You never slumber nor sleep. Heal this heart from the trauma of breakups, bind up every wound, cleanse any sin, renew hope, and prepare a godly marriage in Your perfect timing with a spouse who loves You above all. Lead them away from any relationship that does not honor You and toward a Christ centered marriage that glorifies You. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and Healer, amen.
